Mojo 2014 Snowy owl walkaround by ulinuk

So this is small walkaround of new snowy owl. It is really beautiful bird.

What caught my eye was that it says that it's designed in the UK. Do other brands (except for schleich's "Germany") do that too?

THis one is on my wishlist, great detail in photo's !

It is usual that brands make owls look more cartoonish than they are and I see Mojo's figure is very balanced and realistic in terms of proportions. It was also clever that the brand choosed to make a male instead. It turns this owl distinctive from others and are easier to paint.
Face is just wonderful!
Mojo uses, since last year if I'm not mistaken, the marking "Designed in the UK", it is not a bounden marking as far as I know, thus we don't see it often in other brands. I think it is more a marketing strategy to give more reputation to the brand once "Made in China" is not always a synonym of quality. :) Also, it puts Mojö more connected with the historical tradition of United Kingdom that had reputated brands like Britains, Timpo, etc.
Though, and although I know they are designed in the UK, I don't understand why Anna's figures are also marked like that. There was anything wrong if they were marked "Designed in Poland" ... or Netherlands instead. Nevertheless, I don't see it in anyway as an understimation of Anna's brilliant work. It is known that James appreciates a lot her works.

Congrats! Out of the three major brands that make snowy owl's, I think Schleich's and Mojö's are the best   I'm not sure why I don't like Safari Ltd.'s snowy owl

Very well observed, Jonas! Last year, when my opinion was asked, I also commented the "stretched" neck as not very appealing but this time my imput was not considered. Managers always have their last word and it should be always like that.

I love this snowy owl, I have a few other model but it is IMHo the most accurate of the western style brands

Well, actually it is nice that companies ask collectors opinions and of course they won't have to follow always our suggestions. I remember when a STS team was reviewing the sable antelope, someone told body was still long while other person was saying it was short... almost like Leeann's Fjord neck!
I think Mojo's will be a good partner to my Schleich snowy owl once Mojo's is a male while Schleich is a female.
