Is it a mountain gorilla? He's a Western Lowland Gorilla and .... he's finished!! I'll be taking some proper photos and posting here & on the custom models section later today once I've got his base made and he's mounted properly but in the meantime here's the final steps of painting. Painting Stage 3 * Black - dry brushed Abaddon black over the orange crest to tone it in. Also washed some more Nuln Oil as well to help blend it. * More drybrushing of grey around 'beard' and heavily on the silverback areas. Also lightly greyed over the hands, feet and chest. Nuln Oil over hands and feet to keep the creases black. * Dry brush very lightly with White Scar over some of the grey areas to give it more 'pop' * Bright orange for eyeballs with a black dot for pupil, then went over that with Nuln Oil to tone down the brightness of the orange. Eyes take me ages to get the tiny dot pupil right in the correct spot - probably about 8 attempts before I was happy! * Black over the finger and toenails * Ardcoat (a clear coat) over finger & toenails, mouth, nostrils and eyes to give a shiny/wet look. |

| Let me be the first person, who will post a comment..after we can see Ozzie finished and alive :) It`s just great ! I can`t wait to see the proper photos of him, but I was watching all steps of your work and realy enjoyed. Bravo MiniZoo ! The figure has character ..strong radiation and very nice action feeling. Well done ! Are you gonna put that figure on pedestal ? |

Thanks so much Costa I appreciate your kind comments and that you followed the whole process. Yes he'll be on a pedastool - I'm busy working on it right now :) I have to pin the foot to the base to get him standing correctly... and I promise much better photos! |

| He is fabulous It is almost a shame that he is finished, - it has been so much fun to watch the process, thankyou VERY much, dear Jason Interesting what you write about the eyes, and the difficulty to get them right. We often see that the pupils being a tiny, little bit to the side makes the whole model look odd. Or if the ayes are too small, - too large..the painting of the eyes is so important ! _________________ SUSANNE |

My pleasure, I hope it is inspirational to others. I know it's hard to find information sometimes and something like this would have helped me a lot when first starting. Thankyou everyone else for your compliments too and Schleichgirl I am waiting to see your sculpture sometime soon! |
