FINAL RELEASES - CollectA 2015: PLANT LIFE - Madagascan (Giant) Baobab Tree (89795)

So here is the one and only plant release of 2015, the impressive Madagascan Baobab tree!  

This is another exotic tree to add to our collections but alas no Madagascan animals.......wait for 2016 (hopefully)...  Schleich made the African Baobab which is a more common species on mainland continent African whereas this is the taller, slimmer Madagascan species.

It looks really nice and I also hope for some darker leafs.

Schleich's was an African Baobab which is a completely different species. CollectA were going to make that species but it was decided to make the taller and different looking Madagascan species.

I love it. I would like more different greens. I hope to see more pictures. As Miguel says I'm also interested in the size of the model. Numaan, do you know it?

I actually like it a lot more than Schleich version. And I find it also a more interesting species choice than regular African baobab. The Madagascar species has very interesting form and the figure shows it perfectly.  
Only, like the others, I dislike the bright green leaves, that's not realistic colour. I think it gives it more plastic look.

No it dosent look like the Schelichs, but I love it too!

Interesting, that's the effect of making a species that doesn't fit with common sense. Usually, being exotic also means less attractive. Though, I really admire that the philosophy of showing something different was used in plants collection. I find the replica of a very decent quality, however it will probably regarded for general market as a poor looking work when it is not. For me the unusual species choice is a plus, the only minus is that the impact of that tree in shelves won't be impressive, I guess. Definitively, another common African baobab was not needed .

I just asked Collecta that question a couple days ago and they told me that it is 35 cm tall! I definitely like it better now with the darker leaves.

I also suggested to Collecta to try doing a Sabre Tree. They said they would seriously consider it!

I would love to get one !!!!
