| Hi, dear STSers! I have some updates now: I finally almost finish Willhelm's back. Today I'm goint to keep work. Sorry if photos not enough light, this is the one way to take beautiful photos of this wolf. He is SO inphotogenic! And sun «kill» dark texture. I don't know why, but maybe because of properties of material. Also velvet clay «catch» ALL the trash: cat fur, dust... | Hello, dear friends! I've got some free time and so finally finished Willhelm's back and added some other details. Unfortunately, I didn't take photos with full-finished back, but I'll do tomorrow. But first... I had some experiments with my camera settings and took absolutaly great (I mean quality) photo. If you want, click on photo or PM me for original photo. This photo is taken when I already finished his back:[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] But what do you know about misery if you never have THAT?I noticed that the wire in Willhelm's paw rips the «skin» and so it's visible. I tried to fix it more than 2 times, but it wasn't successful, and... I saw like the rust flow out the paw and dry with yellow color. I decided to open paw up and rasp the wire. Later I decided to delete the wire, cause I thought it will be visible again. But I was shocked when did it. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The wire reacted with clay, and so I had this. It looked like putrescent wound.

A pity what happened with the wire... did you use stainless steel wire? and which kind of clay? |

I don't know what kind of metal is this wire, but it's pretty hard and you can break it if you bend it some times. I prefer cuprum wire, it's more flexible, don't react to anything and is more comfortable in work at all, but I have some troubles to get it. | I dont know the clay you use  Perhaps you have used Iron wire then it is possible it get rusty, especially if your clay has any water-based component...check it! |

Yes, I thought about it Check Hontor's gallery HERE, maybe you'll find something about velvet clay in here And yes, it water-based and so it's almost normal about chemical reaction. But almost all clays are water-based  Anyway, it doesn't matter now.
