As some of them know, Sóstó Zoo is the zoo which to I work.

I would like to present you the animals of Sóstó Zoo in the next weeks.

Info about the zoo:

Sóstó Zoo or in Hungarian name, Nyíregyházi Állatpark is in Hungary in the oak forest of Nyíregyháza city.

Nyíregyháza is 250-300km from Budapest, which is capital of Hungary.

Nyíregyháza and it's part Sóstófürdő is popular place for tourist.

There are lot of spas in Sóstófürdő [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and there is a kind Museum Village too [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] an adventure park and of course, Sóstó Zoo are also there. There are lot of hotels and restaurants near to the zoo. The zoo also have a hotel, the Jungle Hotel [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

The zoo opened at 1995. Our first exotic animal was Elek the lion who arrived to the zoo in 1996. Maybe this was the most important step in the zoo's life. Elek was sensation and more and more people visited the zoo. They started to grow and develop.

Now we are in the list of most wonderful European zoos.

The zoo has 5 big parts, which present the animals by continents.

The zoo has wonderful animal collection. One of the most bigger animal collections of Europe is in this zoo.

We have 2 elephant, 2 rhino, 3 zebra, 8 antelope species. You can find here Llamas, Alpacas, Vicunas, Bractrian camels and dromedaries too.

We have a great big cat collection too. 4 tiger, 3 leopard, 2 lion subspecies and they keep cheetahs, jaguars too. + smaller cats(Geoffroy cat, Lynx...). Our bear collection also nice. We have 3-4 species.

The ape, monkey and lemur collection also great of the zoo. There are western gorillas, 8 Bornean orangutans, 3 gibbon species and 5 lemur species are there. There are other monkey species too in the zoo.

We have an ocenarium together with an Indonesian jungle, this is the Green Pyramid.

We have a sweet water aquarium house with a Jungle house, this is the Victoria House.

We have a Tropical House and a Reptile Nursery too.

The zoo have fantastic bird collection too. 5-6 Macaw species, lot of colorful parrots and big birds of prey.

You can find some record-holding animals too, as Finita - Europe's oldest Siamang and Bagol - Europe's bigger Komodo dragon.

By the way, I work to the zoo, not in the zoo.
I'm graphic designer and the zoo always work with me because they haven't own graphic designer.
I work with them 4 years ago.
I usually spend my free time there and take photos. :)

Not the lemur did it. It is a type of marking which some zoos use. She got it in the zoo where she was born.

Most of these photos from the zoos facebook site. But I have to borrow them, because I mainly have portrait photos. You will see my photos too soon, when I will present my four-footed friends. Wink

99,9% of them will be mine.

This logo was make in 2009 or 2010. I designed newer logos and other things.
