| Hi, dear STSers Yesterday I was trying to do some walkarounds, but later it seems that I took not good photos. So if to say clear, I need remake those photos. But if you'll like it, I'll be calm about it. If you need other photos — let me know, I'll take new ones. Let me say my opinion to this dog. He is absolutaly... great, wonderful, awesome and many-many other words. This is one of the most beautiful dog in my collection. But he has some lacks too: wrong back form (borzoi should have cambered back), wrong ears (actually ears of any hound are semi-erect, but each dog press its ears to back) and borzoi breed are most often hawk-nosed, this one hasn't this nose form exactly, but it is not terrible, some dogs may look so. But all other proportions are absolutaly wonderful. By the way, word «borzoi» isn't correct as a name of breed. This russian word means any dog of greyhound type. More correct is «russian wolfhound», or «russian coat hound». At Russian it sounds like the last way, «russkaya psovaya borzaya». «Psovaya» is formed by word «psovina», which is old russian word that means speciefic type of dog fur. His name is Vladimir Putin and he «lives» in my collection already long time: about 2 years. You know, when I once took photos of Vladimir, he looked like spirit of Russia: lordly, beautiful and free. Unfortunately, I don't take photos of him, cause I can't realize my plans of his photo — I just haven't supposed landscape. I wouldn't say so, it doesn't bother me. It's joints, which can be useful in some moments _________________ My shadow's the only one that walks beside me, My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating. | Holy, hopping Hamster I am so much in love ! He is fabulous, ohhhh But as you say, - something in his anantomy...actually I think there could be Saluki-blood in him ...the loin, the hanging ears, the stop on his face... but too much fur for a Saluki However, according to my "bible" of gazehounds, originally the borzois varied enormously much in different areas of Russia. It was really not untill well into the 20th century that a written standard was made...and I suppose that long after that there were still kennels where they were bred for hunting and not for looking like the standard Actually, there is stil a Short-haired Borzoi , which is a great hunting hound |

Actually, there is stil a Short-haired Borzoi , which is a great hunting hound I didn't think about saluki because of Vladimir colour, but yes, you're right! And you're right again Yes again. I don't remember what breeds were used for getting russian borzoi, but there were greyhound, hortaya (which is eldest) and tazy (they look like hortaya, but have some differences depending area). However, borzois are very beautiful dogs, and I want to sculp one _________________ My shadow's the only one that walks beside me, My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating. Ohhh! Yes !!! And wonderful dogs too ! One of my friends had eight ( EIGHT !!!) at a time, and they were always friends, never barked. She is a little, rotound lady, but she could take these enormous creatures for walks four at a time with no problem at all If you make an extra Borzoi, please, please, think of me - *Bambi-eyes* |

| I like very much that figure, it seems Nayab has an interesting dogs collection. It is not a bad idea to have walk arounds of all of them but you can make instead a thread about their dogs, as long as you acquire some more you can update it. Maybe it is easier? Although all good things of this dog, the best is by far its name... Vladimir Putin? Vladimir is color and Putin is what? |
