| Yesterday I bought a gorgeous blue whale figurine on the flea market. Now it turns out to be an Invicta! Invicta according to TAi: - TAi wrote:
- Invicta Plastics is a UK based company that produces toys among other products. They produced a line of Dinosaurs for the British Museum that are sought after by collectors. Many come in both unpainted and painted versions.
When I bought this whale, I had no idea what it was, and when I looked it up, I thought I had never heard about Invicta before. But when I heard there were made dinosaurs as well, and that these models were produced for the Natural History Museum (London). I copied the markings on them beneath the photographs. Glyptodon [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Glyptodon Length about 3m © British Museum (Natural History) 1975 I find it very interesting that the information about the species and company etc. is different on every figure. Invicta Leicester England, Invicta Plastics Leicester England, 14 metres long, about 12 metres long, up to 10 metres long, length about 3m.. If anyone wants a walkaround, please let me know!

| The weird thing is that there isn't much information on my whale, while the other Invicta figurines (and even other Invicta blue whales I found on the internet). The only thing there is on my whale, is ©BM(NH). At first I had no idea what it meant, but when I looked it up, I found it means British Museum (Natural History), which is another name for the Natural History Museum. But here are some photographs of the markings to compare:

| I got some other lovely Invicta dinosaurs from flea markets/thrift stores quite a while ago (which have been shown in my additions topic). I even have some doubles (I really should make a for sale/trade topic this summer ). Here they are: Even if I don't collect dinosaur figurines (anymore), I just can't help buying these beauties whenever I come across them |

| Excellent posts Julie. Leicester is a city close to where I live and cannot believe they made model figures there. |

| I was able to get a few more Invicta figurines. I still really like this series, and it seems that they pop up quite often here in the Netherlands |

| Never noticed how great is your Invicta collection! My favorite is the blue whale and it doesn't amtter how many huge dinosaurs are found, it seems the biggest one will always be the blue whale... the only extant animal among all these. |
