- Since I'm looking at the photos you based your rhino off of, nice job! If I may say,
I still would go a little darker on the brown, to give it more texture : ) Thanks Baltimore (what's your real name? ) I really appreciate that comments, I will think about a darker brown. - roger wrote:

| Don't get me wrong, the figure is awesome! However, I think it will have a little more "pop" to it, if you go a little darker, like the photo you used for your wonderful creation! |

I thought about that. Maybe in the photo the rhino looks lighter than in the true, and depends to the photo, too. For example, in the 3rd photo of the real animal, I think the colour is the same. Anyway I will ask for it to the people who I will send a copy of it, so thanks for the tip _________________ Joan [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Likaon Wildlife Models Shop my handmade models: http://bestiari.weebly.com/ my models in facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bestiari.animal.replicas |

The rhino is 4'8cm tall and 10'1cm long. It's a 1/23 figurine, she is a female, much smaller than the male... probably in the future I'll work on it _________________ Joan [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Likaon Wildlife Models Shop my handmade models: http://bestiari.weebly.com/ my models in facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bestiari.animal.replicas |

If you look at photoes of them, they very often have that reddish sheen, perhaps from rolling in clay. It is very brave and wonderful, Joan, that you don`t just do like everyone else It is a wonderful rhino |

| Congratulations on your wonderfull job Joan! I followed this tread, but waited for the moment that you finished this sumatran rhino. It is very good, specially for somebody who did this for the very first time! But i think, you already knew this, as so many people complimented you on this model, and reserved a copy of it. Keep on doing the good work Joan! I liked the picture with the rhino scales Christophe. But the shortly re-discovered Borneo rhino is not included. It is not sure yet, if it is a different species, maybe just a sub-species of the Sumatran, but time will learn. As i look at the pictures and movie, it seems to have a bigger and narrower horn, and less hair, but it was only one so far, so we can't really tell. Here are some links to see it; http://www.livescience.com/802-rare-borneo-rhino-photographed-time.html https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfwBVIgWjC8 _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

| From the youtube vid, the Bornean rhino, looks a bit like a combination of a Sumatran and a Black rhino(mainly because of the horn)! Very cool footage! |
