1:20 Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx)

The next Felidae Family Project member will be the largest of the lynxes, the Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx).

He will be the second lynx to join FFP after the Canadian Lynx I made some weeks ago.

From the sculpting point of view the project is a challenge as he can appear both gracile or powerful depending on the age, sex and season and so the posture which should be chosen accordingly.  Following pics clearly shows this point.

Other important aspect is the coat which can be  long and extremely dense, especially over the winter when, with a weight of roughly 30 kilograms,this cat can appears to be a much bigger cat. In fact, the selection of coloration is also an important decision that has to be balanced with the body shape. As you can see in the following drawing, short summer coat tends to be more reddish or brownish in colour and long winter coat use to be silver-grey.

So, this time I am almost decided to select an adult male winter coated Eurasian lynx. Something like this:

Yes ! What a challenge, - also to make it clear what kind of lynx it is

In a quick note, I agree that your choices for this project shows the features of an Eurasian lynx that turn it distinctive from the Iberian lynx... a good idea is half way for a great result!
