Thanks Bojan, it is funny to see a red deer being used as a reindeer.
This may not be true in other countries but in the US it is common to see alot of "stag" type deer statues for christmas decor, not just reindeer/caribou. Think the Papo Stag but in statue form basically (although many are just one solid color). Isn't it supposed to be a red deer as well?
Same in the UK, stags are in almost every shop with Christmas stuff now

Not really, the feet of Canadian Lynx are very big:

It's true, they look almost diproportionately large--lust like their prey, the snowshoe hare. Without those feet, they couldn't move around on the snow.

So in that way it would make sense I think. Definitely a nice figure from them either way though,he'll go well with the Elk.

HK toys used to make any kind of deer to be used as Christmas ornaments but those were quite generic. Nothing really relevant, just found it funny. In Portugal we use always reindeer, unless someone is not able of distinguish them from other cervides. Reindeers are used in a symbolic way in regions where Christmas is celebrated in the Winter (Northern hemisphere) as creatures that help Santa Claus distributing all Christmas gifts. Everyone knows it, of course. Most deers have no antlers during Winter, red deers included, though, reindeers keep them all year round and both males and females have it. So, how can a child believe in Santa Claus with flying cervides if they have no antlers during that season.

Well so far, I'm a little disappointed that they are just rereleasing their old prehistoric animals (and some dinos? I'm not as familiar with their older lines but some of those look familiar...). I think that their time would've been better spent at least remaking the mammoths and sloths to do them justice instead of just piggy backing their old molds. I like the red deer mold, but again the painting could've been better. Reed deer to me are more like red-brown elk (they are related after all) and they don't have that much white on their faces and necks. The lynx looks great, again painting though. I like his big feet, typical of winter coat and a nice change from the usual summer version. And the birds look nice, I just hope they nice paintings too unlike the raven the did where they missed the patches between his toes on his stand (likely just due to the stand bit, hopefully these guys wont have that problem). And the calf has nice hair detail. And the kiwi mini will be welcomed by my nieces and nephews since they love those good luck minis.

As is normal for Safari, they have not specified to the species.

That's a little disappointing because those are not usual releases. Even the lynx is not really identified. I hope we can assign the right species to these two marsupials.

Yeah that's true. But I'm sure that we can identifie them much easier, when we've got better pics :) The wombat for example looks like an southern hairy-nosed wombat and it ould be great to get 2 species from 2 brands

Amazon really jacks up prices when items are first released, I'm sure those prices will settle soon

Guys, today I posted a question at Safari's page in Facebook: Hello! When the 2016 catalog will be available? Their answer: It is now available!
Have anyone seen it?
