Here is a place to post and discuss all the 2016 Asian WildLife models from all brands. New official Pics will be added on the first post when available.

I think the pangolin is an african one. But the pelican is missing in africa

Schleich:
- Pelican, I am afraid this one will be big, very big!
- Leopard, those eyes... Also the placement of the head is a bit weird.
- Pangolin, interesting fella. Need to see him in RL. But MOJO for the win!!

Yes I forget the pelican in the African map but I was too lazy to add it tonight.

For the pangolin, I'm not even sure Schleich really know what species it is so I let it on the two maps.

It might be Giant or Temminck's ground pangolin, I think.

Giant pangolin have a long snout.

So for me it could be an Indian Pangolin or a Temminck's ground pangolin. I can't choose with only one pic.

I guess this model will be enough vague that we can choose the species

I am very curious to know if Schleich assigns the pangolin to a species or if it just one more generic figure. It is not easy at all to identify pangolin species but unfortunately, it looks an Indian pangolin to me what means it is the same species of the Mojö Fun. Schleich organize their catalogue in continental regions so it may help us knowing a little more about the figure. I want to get it however.

Yes, that pangolin has a conformation very similar to the Schleich figure, I have found that picture in some websites but no species identification. Isn't it a ground pangolin?

it is a ground pangolin i believe cuase i have found the pitcture on arkive saying it is a ground pangolin ??

With the dark brown in the picture I believe, it is an african one. But if someone repaints it in a more lightner brown, it could be an asian critter

Of course It could be an African ground pangolin. It is also on the African map.  But we can't exclude it could also be an Indian pangolin. Remember the Schleich King penguin chicks who were Emperor penguin ones. Remember last year, the Flying fox travelled between Oceanian, Asian and African map I think we can let a place for doubt

I think it is funny for us to comment what they are and where do they belong, I believe it is not so funny to who makes these wonderful maps.
Since the begining that you considered that it could be an Indian pangolin or a Temminck's pangolin, as we already have the Mojö Indian pangolin, we are dreaming with a Temminck's pangolin. It is easier to call it African ground pangolin so we repeat it to see if it works.
