| I'm not sure if it is the right section for this post, but I couldn't find a more appropriate one... Now, when we know what all the major brands are introducing this year, it's high time to kinda sum up the news and share our expectations. So, among all the new stuff, what are the most promising and exciting figures for you personally? What are figures are you willing to buy the most? Here’s my Top-10 of 2011 must-haves in decreasing order: 1. Bullyland Lammergeier (What a surprise - Bully on the 1st place of my personal chart!! Never though I'd ever say that...) 2. Papo Mandrill (a monkey at last!!! and it looks good!) 3. Safari Capybara (every new S. American species is precious for me, and this one seems to be in scale with my other neotropical critters) 4. Schleich Kudu 5. Schleich Badger 6. Schleich Cape Buffalo 7. Papo Young Lioness 8. Papo Marmot 9. Bullyland Common Buzzard 10. Schleich Grey Goose (No Schleich in the Top-3 - what a surprising year for me! :)) The biggest surprises-2011 for me: - new model range and, hopefully, quality improvement of Bullyland - Schleich wolverine The biggest disappointments-2010: - No new trees by Schleich or CollectA - Retirement of Schleich black bears - No new South Asian animals by Schleich… Please, share your Top-10’s or Top-5’s! P.S.: It was very interesting to compare my "promising Top-10" of 2010 at the end of last year, when I actually seen and/or bought all the new animals. The biggest disappointment was Schleich Malayan Tapir which took #3 in my "must-have chart", but I didn't like it at all when it hit store shelves... And Schleich warthogs - #2 in my pre-chart - became the leaders of my personal preference in 2011. _________________ Owners of miniature zoos on shelves, unite! My collector's blog

| Kiryuha, I was told by our Schleich representative here in Northern California that the black bear duo will not be retired yet. Perhaps someone has official confirmation of this? |

Hm, really? It's strange to hear that. On Schleich site the bears are marked as the ones to be retired in 2011. _________________ Owners of miniature zoos on shelves, unite! My collector's blog

| Hi old man Kirill! Here’s my Top-10 of 2011: 1. Snow Leopard (CollectA) + baby 2. Mandrill (Papo) 3. Wolverine (Schleich)4. Young Lioness (Papo) + baby 5. Asian Elephant (Papo) + baby 6. Asian Elephant (CollectA) + baby 7. Badger (Schleich) 8. Manatee (CollectA) + baby 9. Kudu (Schleich) + baby 10. Indian Rhino (Safari) And bonus (because I don,t know – can I include to the top prehistoric mammals and animals from phantasy line by Schleich? But I very like it!!!) + Smilodon (Papo) + Brown Bear (Shleich, line Bayala) + Porcupine (Shleich, line Bayala)The biggest disappointments-2010: - Zebra (Papo) PS Maybe for somebody an elephants are "banal" and "common" animals... But they are my favorite animals. Before today I had only 3 figures of asian elephants by only one brand (Schleich). But now my herd of asian elephants will grow with nice models by at once two brands! PPS And this top is without my lovely dinos!!

| Those are only 10 more wanted, not those I think are the best because I have still not an oppinion.
1. CollectA snow leopard 2. Bullyland bearded vulture 3. Safari Lesser kudu 4. Safari capivara 5. Papo mandril 6. Papo marmot 7. CollectA manatee 8. Schleich wolverine 9. Bullyland Common Buzard 10. Papo camel
Some mentions for other series: Safari Miragaia and caprosuchus, CollectA Lourinhanosaurus and dramatic horses, .
I have already some Schleich 2011: greater kudu, arctic fox and greylag goose. But out of top 10.
I'll buy surely the new Bullyland fox (lost hte retired) and Schleich red fox!
...but promissing is a different thing and I think the CollectA horses will be the best 2011 figures!
Desapointments I'll tell you later... |

| Let's gaming . I was looking at the great planisphere made by Lucky Luke to find my own top 10 among the wildlife range. First, I already have some figurines. I bought some because they were the first available : Schleich kudus and buffaloes, Bullyland meerkats. I bought some because I wanted them more and they were already available : Schleich wolverine, Safari ltd lesser kudu and roadrunner, PAPO young lion(ess) All of these are out of competition now, the same for the dinos... SAFARI ltd Indian rhino SAFARI ltd capybara SAFARI ltd bobcat SAFARI ltd American badger PAPO mandrill PAPO Asian elephant & calf PAPO yak PAPO Bactrian camel BULLYLAND bearded vulture SCHLEICH porcupine COLLECTA manatees So my Top10 are eleven and there is no number one and no number eleven. I know I will at least buy those one |

| Here's my top ten (in decreasing order): Schleich Cape Buffalo and calf Schleich Red Fox Safari ltd WW Okapi Safari ltd Indian Rhino Schleich Texas Longhorn cow Schleich Knabstrupper Stallion Papo lion cub (on back) Schleich Badger Papo Mandrill (I do like to look of him, but whether or not I'll buy?) Schleich Kudu Bullyland Okapi calf
Surprises: Safari WW Okapi - wish come true Schleich African Buffalo and calf - also a wish come true
Disappointments
Schleich: no new cattle breeds
Papo: no new big cats or bigger dinosaurs. Asian elephant was too small.

| OK, I don't have any of new figures but my wish list of 2011 items would look like this... 1. Papo young lioness 2. Papo mandrill 3. Schleich kudu 4. Bullyland bearded vulture 5. Schleich Fizzio (porcupine)
That's about it, I'm only into African animals so figure from some other continent would have to really special for me to acquire it...

| Oh, I see an outline of the 2011 top-tier hits: CollectA snow leopard, Safari Capybara, Papo mandrill, Bullyland Lammergeier... I won't be surprised if when we count our votes at the end, there'll be no Schleich in Top-3. A situation noone would have believed if asked two years ago! _________________ Owners of miniature zoos on shelves, unite! My collector's blog

| The novelty in 2011 than I had in the hands but looking at pictures of the most hopeful look 1- wolverine Schleich 2- porcupine Schleich 3- badger Schleich 4- birds Bullyland 5- mandrill Papo 6- capybara Safari 7- badger Safari 8- indian rhino Safari 9- manatees Collecta 10- snow leopard Collecta Large, very nice surprises for me is the wolverine and porcupine. I like these animals. However, it is very disappointing that no company had done the birds of the family Gruidae and Ciconidae. Referring to the words Kiryuha, IMHO Schleich for wolverine and porcupine is in the Top-3-5 -10 |

And which bird by Bullyland did you put on the place 4? You need to choose only one :) _________________ Owners of miniature zoos on shelves, unite! My collector's blog

Schleich Dartmoor Stallion 5. Schleich Knabstrupper Stallion 6. Papo Shetland Pony Foal 7. Schleich Red Fox 8. Schleich Arctic Fox 9. Schleich Standing Rabbit 10. | I think this thread is probably started a little prematurely, most of your TOP 2011 items are not available yet (at least in my country). I personally very like CollectA snow leopards from the pictures but I rather wait until I receive the real ones :) |

But the goal of this thread is to share our hopes and wishes BEFORE we see the new figures in shops and hold them in our hands. Then later, when we get all the stuff we want, it'll be interesting to compare our expectations with the real life truth :) - MartinH wrote:

Don't you want to rank them by places? It'll be more convenient to sum up the results of our expectations. _________________ Owners of miniature zoos on shelves, unite! My collector's blog
