- You are right, wee must have come far enough in 2011 to make a heading like the one for 2912.
Only I don`t know how to make one We just began with this thread. Yes, but it should be on the same general level as the ones for 2010, I think It could be fun to see the years as time goes by ( without singing it ). |

| I can change the name of the previous for the best animal figure of 2010 and try to ask Torben to change the name of the section only to Best animal figure or so! I have to study it! |

| i like the idea of having a different thread for each year. that way, we can keep arguing about 2010 animals without getting them mixed up with 2011 and then 2012 and then 2013.... _________________ carolynn

| Maybe the name of the section would be "Best animals figure of the year..." ? I like the Roger's idea: inside this section we will just write name of the years: 2010, 2011 etc, in separate threads. Then we will be able to look what was chosen in each year in the past too. :) |

| The best 2011 figure is, to my taste, the Safari ltd Cyclops. It was about time someone makes a cyclops figure: and Safari Ltd's Cyclops really matches the myth: 2011 GOLD MEDAL to me. The Bullyland BEARDED VULTURE wins the SILVER MEDAL to me; what an incredible figure, representing such an original bird, and so resemblant. The 2011 BRONZE MEDAL goes to CollectA's Kelenken: an incredibly neat figure with lots of research in recently discovered prehistoric animals. |

| I know I will be repeating myself (I talked about this very often in Laughing Giraffe forum), but what frustrates me the most is that Schleich is retiring, little by little, ALL ITS PORTUGESE-MADE PRODUCTION. In other words, "Made in Portugal" Schleich pieces are going extinct, because now Schleich moved 80% of its production to China, where they can pay their workers ten cents a day or so. Yet they won't lower their prices for that: we pay as much for "Made in China" Schleich as much as if they were still european-made. I'm being sick of the invasion of "Made in China" items we see in stores: skirts are made in China, shoes are made in China, shirts are made in China, plates are made in China, glasses are made in China, spoons and forks are made in China, plushies are made in China, board games are made in China, Xmas decorations are made in China, plastic toys are made in China. Now, even the so-called "five-star" companies are made in China. Industries around the world close their doors and many people lose their jobs because many companies move their production to China, where there are no laws to protect workers. And that makes me angry. I miss the time when we had toys made in England (Britains and Invicta), made in Portugal (Schleich), made in Germany (Schleich and Bullyland), made in Mexico/Taiwan (Mattel). Now, everywhere we look, it's Made in China, Made in China, Made in China. And now, Schleich is no exception. We pay high prices... for Made in China. |
