| Thank you again for your complete and excellent walkarounds - Roger wrote:

Which of all Rebor do you suggest to someone that only wants a single one. I chose this one to be my Rebor addition without knowing if it would be the first or the only one. I'm not a fan of naked theropods and this one had so beautiful feathers Remember the song? Never know how much I love you Never know how much I care When you put your arms around me I get feathers that are so hard to bear... - Viking Spawn wrote:
Any how, despite the issues, (which I never held personally or participated in), I fell in love with the company for their product quality. If you'd ever held one compared to other figurines, you'd know what I mean. They are a cross between a toy and a high end collectible. Its Rebor's attention to detail and paint apps that drew me right in!
Some collectors have had QC issues with some of their dinosaurs not being able to stand either with or without their base. Luckily for me, I never had any of these problems and all of mine stand perfectly; base or no base. (Minus those where their accompanying base is required for posing)
Alas, I was very happy with my Rebor addition, I made a walkaround, enjoyed it everyday and then I read posts from members who had some bad issues with their model. Their utahraptor was slowly falling toward the ground. Mine didn't hurray! One month later mine was a bit tired and now he is falling like if he wanted to be a naked mole rat. Seriously, I can understand it is a new company, but it's range isn't on the cheapest side, so I'm a bit upset to have spend so much money for something that can't stand correctly. - Roger wrote:
- I accept that REBOR aren't accurate enough to claim Museum quality but how many museum lines we know with less accurate figures? If I am not wrong, Schleich replicasaurus was one of these.
Also, REBOR bears a presentation and level of detail adjusted for a prestige line, more adjusted to be sold in museum shops than in trivial toy stores. I can read it also in your comment, so, I think most collectors were quite unfair to the company, mainly when we know how hard is to start in this business and how easy is to make some mistakes when we're just starting. I think it was one fo our first discussions on STS Rogério Some companies are more on the "accuracy" side without claiming a Museum quality level (Kinto favorite or Safari Ltd for example) and some are more on the "artistic show" side ( Papo, schleich and Rebor) What I like in Papo is the company doesn't claim a Museum quality level, it is far more fair. - Roger wrote:
- I am glad REBOR figures are getting popular among dino collectors and we can see a general improvement in their figures, so I think we all win when we give our support in a constructive way to these companies.

| LOL Kikimalou! I actually never heard of that song before!
Sorry to hear about your Raptor leaning issues. You are definitely not the first to complain about that. Luckily for me, I never had that issue?! In fact, I've been lucky with all of Rebor's products so far.
I also heard of standing issues with Acro and the Y-Rex as well. Yet, mine stand just fine too. Sooner or later, my luck may run out but let's hope not!
As for the accuracy, I know they lack in that category. But when I think of museum quality, I think of it as "museum art" and not "museum science." I mean, these are artistic expressions of real animals and not actual depictions. I knew that when I purchased my first Rebor, the King T-Rex. It was a Jurassic Park monster and not the real animal. But I fell in love with its overall detail, paint app, and quality. It looks wonderful on my shelf and that's all I care about really. If Rebor eventually improves on accuracy, then to me, that's just an added plus! |
