...Soft! There are old and new models Papo,s mammoth. I have two old models, because I don,t like new model (the eyes are located on the forehead and in general model is "rough made") ...old model Papo,s mammoth (left and right of herd) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]..and pics by Ikessauro... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]...and new model... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| Thanks Sergey :) I was considering either to buy Schleich or Papo, but Schleich mammoth has ugly eyes and hair on the trunk! _________________ Born to be Wild and Free!

The tusks of the new one are soft... as the Carnegie's mammoth tusks |

| Thanks, Christophe. Well, the hardness of the tusks wasn't the main concern... I was just curious. Thanks for the pix, too! _________________ Born to be Wild and Free!

| Eventually... Papo won in the competition. I just ordered it online - the perfect Christmas gift! The superiority of the Papo sculpt and its "dramatic" appearance won my heart. I like figures with artistic touch on them... _________________ Born to be Wild and Free!

| I'm sure you'll like it a lot Gabe. Both Papo's are amazing. The new one WAS my favorite, but then I finally got the old one and... I don't think I need to say more :) |

Hi Frederik! Privet! Quite the contrary it,s translation to Russian from English! And the original book is: ZOOBOOKS: Elephants by John Bonnett Wexo.- Published by Wildlife Education, Ltd (1996) There are many issues of this series (ZOOBOOKS from 1996) about different species of animals (bears, lions, hippos, gorillas and etc.) |

| Two weeks ago I saw this Papo Mammoth at the local store here in Singapore and I was amazed and bought it without any doubt. Initially, I thought the Schleich's counterpart was better. Until I went home in the Philippines last week and have a look at them together. Papo is actually is better, bigger and taller in size. The tusks are soft and bendable and the body is not as hard as the Schleich's. Here are some of the pictures that I took just now: Papo Mammoth 55017: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Together with the Schleich Mammoth: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]My next target would be the CollectA and the Safari Ltd's Mammoths. |

| Thank you Ron for the pics. So I'm not alone . The Papo mammoth is indeed far better than the Schleich, it is even better than the commercial pics of... The Papo mammoth |
