PAPO hyena versus... PAPO hyena

A few days ago, I was looking at the Papo display to be sure that no 2011 animals would be here. I was very satisfied as usual because there was no 2011 Papo, so the tradition will stay : No Papo in a french shop until may     .
Suddenly something attracted my attention, a hyena, a Papo but... Different from the one I used to have on shelves   .
You know I don't collect colour variations... But ok, this time was a good occasion to break my rules  
So... Here they are  

What a difference in colour! Congratulations on your first variation Christophe!
So which do you like better, the lighter or darker version?

I prefer the new one of course... Because it's the new one .

Seriously, the new one is better on shelf because it is a warm model, it looks more appealing

Oh, they have corrected the scary black face!!! My favourite is clearly the Papo hyena! Again choosing Papo!

Do you think this color variation would be mass produced like the color variation in the velociraptor? If so, I'll definitely but it!

The New one look better and more realistic. especially the face likely to be more nature & a question is the colour more on matt finishing or like the old one look glossy and shining.

All the hyenas in the shop were like the new one

Congrats Christophe for having these two Hyena in Glossy and Matte finish.


The reason why I didn't buy this Hyena before, the Glossy finish didn't impressed me at all.

Now, there is no more reason why I shouldn't get this Papo Hyena anymore.

My Papo Hynes is the second version, with darker muzzle, so apparently lighter than the first version.
The big difference is the black line that extends the nose to the head.
So I'm happy because it made since its release I have version 2 lighter and less bright

That is an excellent find, Christophe. I love variations, but my collection is still very much in the early stages to have been so luck to find one.

Looks like this is an official color variation of the hyena for 2011, because according to kiki ALL the hyenas were painted this way in the shop. This is just great!

I like the new version, it just dropped in on my wish list...

OK, the dark faced very Papo!

I think this new repaint makes this figure the best hyena on the market!
DEFINITELY gonna buy this bad girl!
