My first reaction to this model was " What the *beep* is this for a lynx ????" But then I began searching the net for pictures, and I discovered that it is actually a wonderful model ! The Canadian lynx IS quite different from other lynxes , only, I never even thought about this species before Let's take a look : [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]On the net I found this great comparison between the bobcat and the Canadian lynx ( THIS PAGE [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Safari also made my only bobcat : [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]It is obvious that the lynx got Safari's "New style" paintwork...or rather lack of it But check it out...they have so much stressed the difference that I forgive them [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Clear difference between the tails : [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Quite stylished, but again...if a child should learn about the differents, it isn't bad [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The enormous paws of the model almost made me reject the model...but again, - stylished, but as they say "Exaggeration helps understanding" . Some also have the light, beige colour [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And fur under the paws [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]All in all, I have begun to LOVE this kitty Here we have all four species [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Iberian lynx from Mojo, Canadian lynx and bobcat from Safari, and the Eurasian lynx from CollectA

That's a great That's a tremendous walk around, Susanne! What a presentation to start the 7th season of STS. Also, as you pointed in other topics, it seems I am not so confortable with the differences between a bobcat and a Canada lynx as I am with European species. So, all this additional information is very valuable. I also agree that in a figure the exageration is better than the omission, even if they go too far as Safari did. The result is a quite bulky lynx but the huge paws, long legs, detail with tail, are all good points to this figure as you commented. Safari is conscientious that a pragmatic sculpt as the Iberian lynx, with very slender and feline built, small head, although more faithful to the real creature, is much less attractive to children. So, most companies end making their figures a little chubby. OK, Canada lynxes are reasonably chubby anyway. Again, I am very happy that we have all lynx species in "standard" size as you left to the posterity with your great last picture. Although I find the painting bizarre, I want to have it in my collection!

I wasn't sure about this model in the beginning either, because of the huge paws. But then I read online that because of the huge paws, the Candian Lynx is able to walk through the thick snow. And that made a lot of sense. And after seeing WhiteLightning Wolf's beautiful repaint of the model, it is pretty clear to me that Safari ltd. did a wonderful job. Thank you for the group shot. I love group shots.
