| This model is ever so delightful, and the more I look at it, the mode I love it The way it "flies",and brakes with the tail and wings just before it grabs its pray with the sharp talons, is beautyful. But the real stroke of genius is, that it just touches the grass with the tail, which in our model world gives it a solid base even though it is still flying. For good measure neither bird nor base look completely in ballance, which gives it an illusion of speed and action Uhh, hard to express in English, - why don't y'all speak Danish ?? Here are a few photos. Perhaps they show it a little better than my words [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]With the Peregrine falcon from CollectA. A more quiet model, but it is still a nice bird . [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]With the Peregrine falcon from Papo. This could be a pair, as the female of the Peregrine falcon is up to 30% larger than the male [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]With the gorgeous, old Peregrine falcon from Schleich. Here the Safari bird would have to be the male, though [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And with the newer Peregrine falcon from Schleich. I had to separate them, as they started fighting [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And that's all for now, because they flew away [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| It's beautiful! Actually I like all of them, except the papo maybe. The trick with the base is really cool, but there's just one thing that sets me off in this figure.. The feet and the nails... I think it's so obvious I don't have to explain why.
Fantastic photo-story as always Susanne! |

Fantastic photo-story as always Susanne! Thanks a lot Well those feet and nails are on almost all Safari birds ( except the webbed ones, of course ), I just don't see it any more And afterthought : This IS a toy ! It should be suitable for children down to 3 years of age, so they can not make those like the sharp, dealy weapons they really are

| I am disappointed with the paint job on my CollectA figure; I might replace it someday and this Safari figure is a good option. |

| Adam, Susanne will post it for sure, Susanne is one of the most effective TAW editors. It is again another spectacular figure from the Wings of the World series! I agree it is genial the way they used the tail with the base to allow such an exciting pose . though, it would work much better for a goshhawk, for instance. Peregrine falcons are adapted for speed and they hunt other birds during the flight. Obviously I don't mean it is not plausible, just more adjusted if it was a goshhawk once they tend to hunt creatures on land. The pose reminds the Bullyland great grey owl that does not use a base. The level of detail is magnificent, it is especially from the back where we can see the parachute effect the bird uses to reduce the speed while approaching to the ground. Beautiful tail! You almost guessed I wanted a lot to see this walk around. I really disliked the last Schleich falcon and I never got the old one that I like despite its snob look. Fortunately I have the CollectA as a worthy representative. Many thanks for opening this topic, it is fantastic! |

That's the best part of the model, they made it perfect! I still wonder though, they put so much effort to make it look so realistic, why the feet have to be like yellow tubes? |

Feet are often the less appealing point on Safari birds . If they did it better both in proportions and more realistic colors, their recent birds could easily be compared with the best Japanese renditions. |

| Oh yes, I was also waiting for a walk around of this model ... and here it is ! Perfectly made it by Susanne Now, I like this Peregrine falcon more and I will get it too :) Jason did one very clever thing for the Southlands Replicas - Eastern Grey Kangaroo, where you can put the model on base, but also you can remove it ... And I taught that this model can be done olso like that :) The last photo is just crazy .. hahha |

| As I have all these birds in my collection, I like the parrots and cockatoo feet. That's probably because I like to put them in the trees for photos, and they work so well _________________ [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ADAM [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] "Our planet is in crisis. | There is only one wings of the world figure that still needs to fly to my collection, and its not easy to find _________________ [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ADAM [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] "Our planet is in crisis. | Susanne, what a wonderful Walkaround and review. Just love your photographs and really like the way you bring in its friends from CollectA, Papo and Schleich. These also show the size relationships between this Safari model and other examples from your collection. This aspect is a most useful one as most STS members ask about size and scale between companies. Perhaps more of us should learn to speak Danish but it is amazing that you can bring in a sense of humour in English. I certainly smiled lots when reading this post. And I agree these are toys first and foremost so we must learn to forgive areas in detail which collectors hope for and aspire to. A most enjoyable and entertaining post Susanne. Thank you. |
