| I decided to log in briefly to my photography account on DeviantART and came across a message left by one of my watchers on a photo of the 2016 Papo Arctic wolf. She bought the arctic wolf from the same seller that I had gotten mine from but there are some disturbing quality issues with hers. In the comment she noted that the plastic was really weak and that she could somewhat peel the seams apart. Then looked at it even more and discovered that she could chip the plastic off with her fingernails and that a crack then appeared (I'm assuming at the seam). This is the first report I've come across of a Papo figure having rather serious quality issues. She's so disappointed and is convinced it is a fake but it has all the same text on the inside of the back leg just like mine, Including "Made in PRC". I asked her if she could get me some photos of these issues as I am really curious about this. When she posts them, I'll be sure to ask her if I can then upload them here to show everyone. In the meantime, has anyone ever experienced an issue like this before? |

| If I remember correctly, Susanne had paint pealing issues with a Papo giraffe. I'll see if I can find that thread. Found it! - SUSANNE wrote:

| A nightmare to any compagny !!! Sounds like some terrible error in the raw material As far as I know, the plastic is supplied as small pellets, and one expects that it is the quality that you ordered, and there is no reason to check it, because it is a rather cheap product. Usually white plastic is the strongest !!! But we hear of manufacturers that even falsify baby milk to earn a little more And this problem in a toy surely sounds like it could be a health problem to children too , - poor children, and poor Papo I do not have the wolf yet...but I am sure you can get it another, good one, if there is a problem like this. ...and now I see my old giraffe ! I had completly forgotten But it shows how a quality issue can hurt a compalgny almost for ever in these days of www communication |

| I don´t own any Papo models (yet!) but I had read a few complains about their dinosaurs (that was why I posted a question about them not too long ago). Like our friends here at STS told me in my topic, the issues I read about were likely the exception rather than the rule. I´m positive that this wolf is a similar case: it was a flawed model that somehow "escaped" from the quality control and went on to be sold. It´s always an issue when it happens, but it was probably just a slip. _________________ "Dovahkiin, Dovahkiin naal ok zin los vahriin wah dein vokul mahfaeraak ahst vaal! ... Oh my, I never knew of paint peeling issuses too, although some of my older Schleich models were notorious for peeling paint. Never noticed it with any of my Papo models though, thankfully! - SUSANNE wrote:

It is a major shame that happens sometimes and more times than we think! And what a shame when it even happens for products for human consumption! Yikes! Falsifying baby milk? That is terrible but unfortunately not very surprising as I suspect that is going on with numerous products! - Iuri97 wrote:

That makes total sense! I once went on a small tour through a manufacturing facility and was shown how workers there pulled anything that had quality issues. But at the number of workers present and the speed of the product being produced, I could spot where items with quality issues could easily slip past! |

| I never had such a problem with Papo. But some of my Papo's have colour spots, where they do not belong. For example: my White-Tailed Stag has a brown dot on his black nose. It is the same brown, which was used to paint the mouth. |
