| By chance I recently discovered several animal figures by Franklin Mint. They were designed by Chris Denigh. They were offered in Germany in the 90s under the name "Die Tierwelt Alaskas." English meaning so about "the wildlife of Alaska" Figures were not available in the German shops, you have ordered directly only by post. That means, Franklin Mint sent the collector every month one figure. You can´t buy one, you have take them all. To the series belonged 12 figures - so you needed one year to get them all. Material is made by a kind of resin and a little bit of porcelain. All animals are sitting on a socle/mounting made of a kind of "crystal glass" Here you can see eight of them, they fit well to figures by Papo, Schleich and other brands. | They are gorgeous All of them Thankyou very much for the beautyful walkarounds, comparisons and collages You also have the most magnificent view from your terasse, - I can see that the wind is not very strong in München today, since you dare to put them on the rail |

| I am glad you're sharing these beautiful figures on forum! I like the idea of a series narrowed to a smaller geographic area. They're all very beautiful and I am thrilled knowing that you're sharing your luck with me! |

| Nice series Yvette I'm not too much on the christal thing but the animals are really interresting and as Rogério said, it is good to see geographic limited series. |

Where should be a better place to live for an fox as in Portugal ? - Bowhead Whale wrote:

Not this series - but company has made also other series with animal figures too - Franklin Mint stopped selling figures in Germany round about 15 years ago. But you can find animal figures on Ebay here in Germany. - Kikimalou wrote:

I agree with you, Christophe. I also would prefer the figure with no cristal botton. But it also has it´s advantages. On the shelf, the Franklin Mint animals are standing in the background. Because with the crystal they are higher as the the other animals. With other figures in the fron, you don´t see the crystal. I Googled, Googled, visited the closest Library, asked a zoologist and I haven't found a better place to a fox live... though, suddenly, I've seen your shelves! |
