Belated Post for 16 June ‘19

Sprinkles - Shetland Pony Mare

Sprinkles is a sweet and peppy Shetland Mare. She is energetic, and also rather mischievous. She isn’t especially hard working though and loves to take it easy. Her biggest two passions are basking in the sun and eating snacks.
Sprinkles is owned by Tinka’s younger cousin Alexi. The two are nigh inseparable and Sprinkles tends to whinney a lot more when Alexi is not at the stables. Luckily Alexi can’t bear to be away from Sprinkles for long and comes straight for the stables when she wakes up and when she gets out of school. She rides out almost every week with Tinka and thus Sprinkles and Icedust get along very well.
Sprinkles has three sisters, Nestle, Wendy and Tinkerbell. They are all full blood siblings. With the stallion Jammie, Sprinkles has a colt named Confetti.


Sprinkles is a member of the Sarnori Mountain Clan. She is a sweet and chatty mare. She is very sociable and has many a friend. Almost every member of the herd likes her. She is helpful and very loyal to her friends. But she also tends to be a bit nosey and can be a bit of a gossip.
She is mated to the stallion Jammie, they have a colt named Confetti. She has three sisters, Wendy, Tinkerbell and Nestle.

Competitions

Every month the Valyria Stables team organises several competitions. There are competitions in Dressage, Jumping, Western Pleasure and Ring Tilting. Each week, another competition gets organised.
The competitions have time slots for each experience level. From beginner to expert, everyone has an opportunity to compete against those of their own level. Both boarders and students can enter, with their own horses, or assigned stable horses.

Competitions are large and joyful events, with free drinks, a lot of decorations and music. The horses are decked out beautifully and in the afternoon prices are handed out and there is a celebration. It draws a lot of attention from friends and family who come to support the competitors.

Sproet - Piglet

Sproet is one of Big Mommah's piglets. He is a curious little thing. He loves to play and to explore. His mommah doesn't quite yet let him out of her sight, but the pigs are allowed out in a small meadow, so Sproet can play all he wants. He really loves being out and about and play with the other pigs.
Sproet has a set of siblings, Frenkel is one of them, as well as Bikkel. His father is Wilbur.


Sproet lives with his mother and brother with Man beyond the Fog. He's already lost a lot of his brothers and sisters to Man's appetite. He is scared and tries to stay away from Man beyond as much as he can.
His parents are Wilbur and Big Mommah, he has several siblings, under which Bikkel, Frenkel and Fenner.
If he were able to flourish he would be a curious and friendly young thing.

Spud - Pitou Donkey Foal

Spud is a very cute donkey foal. He is, like all donkeys very stubborn and mischievous. He is very playful and has a very clear idea of what he wants and what he doesn’t want. And good luck with convincing him of doing what he doesn’t want to do. Not even the most tasty snacks. And Spud loves snacks
He mainly associated with the other donkey foals and the goat kids, but also some horse foals and calves. His best friend is the donkey foal Piotr. He also plays with his brother Nononono a lot.
Spud is a rescue orphan, hand reared by the stablehands. He thinks of them as his mothers and if given the chance will follow them anywhere.


Spud lives with Man beyond the Fog. He is bred to be an animal of burden, but he might give Man a run for its money. He is very stubborn and doesn’t seem to want to be trained. For now Man leaves him be in the meadow.
His father is Toeter and his dam is Koosje. He has no siblings.

Stampertje - Pet Bunny

Stampertje is one of the many bunnies at the stables. They are kept at a few coops and pens where the children can enter to cuddle and play with the bunnies. Stampertje is a very allert and observant rabbit and is the leader of the colony.
With Snuf he has a litter of young, Benjamin, Pieter and Nijntje. He keeps a keen eye at them and is very protective of them.


Stampertje is the leader of the rabbit colony that lives in the fields of the butterfly fae. Faelings from all the tribes of Fae come there to play with the bunnies. He is very allert and observant and defends the colony is otters and badgers that dare come too close. When Faelings are too rough with the young, he will chase them off as well.
With his mate Snuf he has a litter of young, Benjamin, Pieter and Nijntje. He keeps a keen eye at them and is very protective of them.

Stannis - Roe Deer Stag

Stannis is a deer doe that lives in the forest beyond the stables. The riders sometimes see him wandering around with Lily and her Fawn Bambi. He is rather shy though and usually avoids the horses. From time to time, he can be seen crossing the meadows to go from one part to the forest to the other.
With the Lily, Stannis has a fawn named Bambi that sometimes follows him around.


Stannis lives in the forrests near the Flower Fae city. He is quite friendly with the Fae and allows them to feed him flowers and succulent leaves. But he will herd his mate and calf away from them. He is friendly to all other animals, but rather intimidated by the horses and bigger creatures such as the Elephants and the mythical beings that visit the Fae.
With the doe Lily, Stannis has a fawn named Bambi that follows them everywhere.

Staraja Riba - Coral Pony

Staraja Riba lives with the Mermaids in the reef city of Shellrea. She is a companion of the younger mermaids. She is very outgoing and sociable. She likes to play with the other marine foals and the young mermaids. She has no special powers.

Rehabilitation

The stables also occasionally takes in horses who have been rescued by the dutch animal police.
These horses are not many, but they take a lot of work. Only a few of the stablehands are specially trained to handle difficult horses and to help them rehabilitate and socialise. These are Joost, Tinka and Niklas. They are very gentle to the horses and patient.

The rehabilitating horses are all being trained in natural horsemanship, to build their trust in humans back up. For most horses this works very well. But some horses keep several behavioural issues.
The horses that remain difficult are not send away. They deserve a life after all. They are kept and cared for as best as possible. Most of them make good horses still, with the correct and careful handling of the stablehands.

Stardust - Thoroughbred Stallion

Stardust is a gentle and loyal English Thoroughbred stallion. He is friendly to most people. He is patient and tolerant to other animals like the dogs and cats.
He is primarily a film horse, but he enjoys racing a lot too, which he is quite good at as well. As a film horse he is very used to noisy environments and a lot of people around him. He works with a lot of riders and wears fancy get ups as a war horse of an elven steed.
Stardust has two brothers, Theoden and Arthur.


Stardust is the loyal steed of Surah, one of the Dark Elves. He is her trusty steed, with the gait of a swimmer and a steady hoof like a mountain goat. They love each other very much.
There is anger in Stardust’s heart, for his brother Arthur has been stolen from him in their colthood. This makes him sometimes rather temperamental.
He has one other brother named Theoden.

Stavan - Mustang Stallion

When he was three years old, Stavan, along with his brother Armani exported from the USA to the Netherlands for breeding purpose. Soon he mated with Aisha and gave birth to colt Akatsuki.
Stavan is a fully domesticated mustang Stallion. He is hardly related to the wild herds that still graze the plains in America. But all the same he is a showy and headstrong stallion. He is very proclive in Western Disciplines. Experienced riders can take him into the arena. Liscensed riders can also take him into the woods.
Stavan is very sociable, but tends to be a bit dominant. His greatest friends are Gale, Jasper and August.


Stavan is a showy, sociable stallion form the Wild Herd, under the lead of Tyr and Ares. He is very well liked in the herd and is known to be a brave fighter, defending the weaker members of the herd when he needs to.
His best friends are Gale, Jasper and August. They often race each other and tell a lot of dad jokes amongst each other.
Stavan is mated with Aisha. With her he has a colt named Akatsuki. He has a brother named Armani.

Stefano - Fairy Koala Bear

Stefano is a magic kind of koala bear. He lives in the tallwood jungle, in one particular tree, which leaves are the only thing he eats. He is not particularly bright. All he does is eat and sleep, not noticing much of the world around him. Mainly because he leaves he eats causes a natural high.

Stella - Unicorn Filly

Stella is a juvenile unicorn filly. She is part of the vast unicorn herd, but does not always stick to them. The Fae have discovered her mother is the mare Terrane and her siblings are Bradley, Galacea, Kissie and Mickey.
Stella is rather shy and stays away from the Fae mostly.

Steven ‘Steve’ Grant Rogers - Tennessee Walker Horse

Steve is a friendly and clever Tennessee Walker Horse Stallion. He is gentle of nature and very friendly to horses, humans and other animals alike. He is very open to the foals and young children.
Steve’s friends are Thor, Anthony, Loki, Sam and Peggy. He is closest, though, with Bucky. The two are almost inseparable and get antsy when they are parted for too long. They are really cute together.
Steve is very good at Western Pleasure, Trail and Cutting. He is also very speedy and sometimes races against other horses at the stables.


Steve is a member of the herd led by the brothers Ares and Tyr. He is a vast friend of both brothers and a protector of the herd.
He is mated to Bucky. They have no foals, but hope to adopt. He has two brothers, Nori and Bard.
He is a very brave stallion, who is always ready to defend the herd. He does not trust the Fae or the predators and keeps them at bay. He is a bit reluctant to trust the Pendragon line, but he knows he will have to.

Stinky - Skunk

Stinky is a forest dwelling critter. He is mostly nocturnal and sleeps in her den during the day. He tends to be a neatfreak and a busybody, always running to and fro to make sure everything is going according to his plan. This does not sit well with everyone and some forest inhabitants do not like his for being rather bossy.
Stinky is mated to Ruth. They have not yet any offspring.

Special Post for 30 June '19


Breeding is an important component of the stables. Most of the younger horses in training are born and raised at Valyria Stables and grown up loved by the entire community.

Breeding is mostly kept within breed standards, but there are a few crossbreeds. Half of the crossbreeds are thanks to Blackstorm being such a hudini and always finds the mares in season. The other half are because of the parents talents or temperament that Pieter wants to see in the foals.
Most foals stay in Pieter’s ownership and those that are sold are boarded at the stables. There are, at the moment of writing, a lot of foals on the stables and they are all greatly loved.

Stormvlieg - Welsh Stallion

Stormvlieg is a bit of an elderly Welsh C Gelding. He is sweet and calm, albeit a bit stubborn. Despite his age, he is still very energetic and participates in five lessons a day. He gets Tuesday and Thursdays off. He is very good at jumping.
He is very sociable and gets along with most other ponies. His best friends are Eoru, Tokou and Arianne.


Stormvlieg is a Faebred pony. He lives in the royal stables. He is not bonded to any fae, but the young fae learn to ride with him. He is very patient and friendly to them.
