I like really all of them and I cannot make a choice. As we only can choose one, I asked my wife's help and she make her choice. Incredible the talent of the members of our community!

These are all fantastic works of art for our banner, so many great ideas and formats to choose from!

but I like the brotherly lying atmosphere of this forum that's here just to make exaggerated and thought-less compliments one eachother, so I'll join the mood and say:

WOW! WHAT A WONDERFUL BUNCH OF EXTRAORDINARY MASTERPIECES OF PURE ART HERE! THEY ARE ALL SO BEAUTIFUL THAT I CAN'T REALLY CHOOSE JUST ONE!

Welcome on forum Rossano! All these banners are really wonderful for me, maybe I am also not a professional as most of the members that tooke their precious time to contribute, for free, to give a new year banner to the forum. So, everything is relative, when something is far better than what we can do, maybe it looks fantastic to our eyes. Though, as you find them ugly, maybe it is because you can do it much better and I invite you to participate next time, are you brave enough? :)
Our forum is much more than you can read through our comments. Behind it all, there are true friends and I already witnessed acts of generousity and kindness among members that you can see rarely through "non virtual" friends and that I cannot translate into forum posts. I am sorry that this brotherly atmosphere sounds weird to you, our personal experiences have a huge influence in our beliefs so much probably the fault is not yours. Feel free to enjoy if you really wish it.

I'm debating between 4 and 6? I like them a lot though I will miss our current one

ROSSANO if you don't like them maybe you should have sent your own work and see if it would have had success.

Considering it's his first post here I'm afraid our new member Rossano only came here to say something sarcastic. Maybe it's even intended trolling like we see so often in the web those days? Some of my good friends are professional graphic designers and I've never seen any of them coming out of the blue just to criticise someone else's works. What for?

Also, I may not be professional but to me, these banners really look great and I had a hard time to decide my favourite from this lot. I would like to thank all of you who created these lovely projects!!

Yes Anna, I would like to vote for all of them. All of them would be a great banner. Indeed we never had something else than great banners. STS is a great forum

It does NOT matter if members who join this little competition are professionals or beginners (or anywhere in between), you have to start somewhere and this is for fun!

Just like Kiki said, you get only one chance to make a good impression, and you just blown that away (at least for me that is).

Congratulations to all involved in the banner competition - all fine efforts indeed.

Welp I Went for Banner 4, for many reasons it's clean it's to the point and not too overdone, okay it lacks A dinosaur, but I think it's okay even there are no Dino's applied.

This would of been the dino of choice in there hah, but I guess not everyone has that rare one, I do feel free to ask me to make pics of it, I will gladly help with such things.
But not to worry, it's subtle, good looking and it will serve it's purpose.
But hey it has Wolves in it perfect for me there!!

The red STS logo I would of made Pine Green and Forum in Royal Blue but that's just my opinion of it, it's perfect for the rest, not too many items showing this a clean overall look

I have already voted, nice contest and beatiful artwork and photography in some of them! I really enjoy the number... hahaha joke! Can't tell

We will let the sarcastic, unhappy people, to fight with their problems .. For me, they are just unhappy people, who try to find attention from the others, but in a wrong way..
And until they find the right way..from me, they will get only : ignore

Great work on these wonderful banners! I've already voted and in all seriousness, it was a difficult choice. There are some really excellent submissions here.

I was trying to find out when the contests is finished, - was it really only yesterday ( Monday 19th) that it started ???

They are all so nice, it feels like I have known them for a long time

Rossano, I hope you realize the impact of your words. To some people this can be extremely damaging. You don't know what people are going through in their lives and what they are putting up with at any moment in time. Something so simple as even a harmless joke can be taken the wrong way and ruin that person's week. Such a strong comment saying all of these banners are "really ugly" is quite condescending and hurtful. As far as your comment on the professionalism of these, all of the participants here, whether in terms of posting on the forum or creating their own banner, have donated their own valuable time to create something from their own mind and ideas so we had something to enjoy. Yes, for free. No one is paid for their works, only in the pleasure of creating these banners and in the kind comments from others. For all you (or I) know, these could very well be professionally designed - everyone has their own style and differences, and that's what makes the world interesting. If we were all the same, life would be boring and uninteresting. Perhaps none of these banners strike your fancy, and that's okay! But instead of bashing the artists I wish you would have kept silent and considered the ramifications of your posting. Understand how words do hurt and can damage people. You may think it's funny now, but I hope you don't continue on your life treating people this way. You'll find out soon enough it will come back to bite you.

As for your opinion of finding our "brotherly atmosphere" unusual, well, I pity you don't have any true friends. And if you go on bashing strangers over the internet, hiding behind a computer screen where no one can see your face, then I have to say you'll never find true friendship like we have here. At at the age of 44 I find it amazing you still haven't learned how to conduct yourself appropriately. I personally never thought I could make such great friends over the internet but over the years I've learned it's possible. And these are some of the best friends I have, even if the majority I've never even met in person. Our "exaggerated and thoughtless compliments to each other" are not thoughtless but of showing true compassion for one another. Not of jealousy of someone getting a model you really wanted yourself but pride for your friend finally attaining that "holy grail" they've searched for for years.

This has already become longer than I wanted it to be but if you even come back and look at this I hope you decide to change your ways and cease criticizing people you don't even know.
