Schleich toucan 14777, new for 2017.

I am delighted to show a small walkaround of the brand-new Toco toucan, and show a couple of pictures compared to the beautyful old 14328 from 2004-2008

It is a beautyful little bird ! Good job, Schleich !!!

The eye of the new one is a more correct colour, but both have a rather stocky beak and large head, - however I love them very much

I think that the newer version shows some improvement when compared with the newer version and it should always be like that when the same animal is replicated. Paws seem more detailed, facial markings more correct. The same stocky beak as you pointed, it should be less exagerated indeed. Both figures go very well together and it was nice that Schleich decided to give to it a different pose, pity that they did not released a new species of toucan instead. Though, I have the older one, I like better its pose and it is more than good for me. It will be also interesting to see later the new Papo when available, the real toucanosaurus.

Wow, what an nice toucan! You are right, the head is definitley too big and I miss a little bit red on his tail. And even the Toco toucan being the most common species made by major brands, I still don't own any of them.

Thank you Susanne for the review ! I find it better than on the official pictures but he has indeed a short beak and a too big head. The toucan made by Papo will be probably the best about morphology but this one is full of charm :)

I saw your walkaround and then i stumbled across the old toucan and had to have it, so that I hopefully can make a pair like yours Thank you for the pictures!

More details, better coloured, a better too short beak... new Toco is the real son of the old Guiness.

I like Toucan, they are so odd but so beautiful. Nevertheless I will probably forget to buy this one, i have too much of them and I still prefer the Bullyland one

What a crazy looking bird it is, - but very beautyful also

Sometimes I try to think of modern day's animals like I look at the enormously strange dinosaurs.
Look at this bird, at an aardvark, a giraffe, an anteater etc...well, and humans walking round upright on two little feet, wearing fabric all over,  and using their front paws for all kinds of strange things

He's really cute! I might put him on my wish-list. Is he made of the firmer plastic or that new rubbery kind of plastic that Schleich sometimes uses now?

More of a fan of the older material.

Perhaps they think DANGER ! (Wild animals) or FOOD ! ( Tame animals, - and some wild ones, too, but not the same kind of food )

Papo, Schleich, Schleich, and Bullyland

That's a wonderful comparison picture. It is good to know that the Papo figure works nicely with their Schleich partners and again I notice a very dinosaur look on it. Well, birds are dinos anyway so nothing wrong on it. Mr. Bully is a Sir.
