They are wonderful cheers

Thankyou very much for sharing again rare treasures from your collection ! Very Happy

I wished I could ask for photos to put in the ERTL-page in TAI, as we have no pictures of models there.
But I would not know where to out those pictures...it seems there are many series of ERTL scratch

The horses are about the same size as Britains.Susanne the models went under ERTL Farm Country Animal Collectables-there were also cattle and dogs.

True, ERTL made other, larger horses; ones which were the same size as Breyer traditionals.  They come up for sale on ebay occasionally.  I don't I have photos of my big ERTLS.

On an amusing side - I bought a custom painted one of the small ERTL horses (think it's the QH) which had been made into a Christmas decoration.  It's hanging on my dining room chandelier along with a lot of other equines.

Thanks a lot for showing these. They look great, so I thought let's see whether I can find any on Ebay UK. Yes! Two horses, a foal and a dog. I immediately bought them. As far as I can see, the horses and pony are different from the ones you have.

scratch It looks like the Mustang pair. These are not that uncommon in the US market, maybe one of us here can help you find something, Roger.

Editing to say I think I have the Shire in my trade box if you want it.

Very nice horses Taylor.

There are several ERTL sets or models on US ebay right now, I am sure someone could help you out of you wanted some.

Thanks, Kelly. Yes, I'd be interested in it. I'll send you a pm.

The horses I bought aren't shown in Taylor's catalogue. When I looked on Ebay US, I noticed that "my" horses are sold as 1/64 scale. The seller said that they are 3 inches tall though (1/32 scale), so I am curious what I'll get. Perhaps they were produced in both scales.

Taylor, would you be happy to show photos of the 1/32 scale cattle in your catalogue? I am curious what they look like.

PostSubject: Re: ERTL Horses   ERTL Horses EmptyFri Sep 24, 2021 10:19 pm

They have arrived! Here is a photo:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

They are the same size as Breyer Stablemates (1/32 scale). They are not bad and I am happy to have them, but they can't compare in quality with Breyers. The sculpts and painting are somewhat simple and the plastic looks quite cheap. It looks and feels like Lego plastic (ABS I think), but it has some shiny and some matt patches. Not so clear in the photo, but especially the adult horses have a mix of shiny and matt plastic. My impression is that they are lower quality than the horse series that is in Taylor's catalogue, which seem to have more detailed sculpts and painting.

My favourite is the dog. It looks like a familiar breed to me, but I haven't been able to identify it. Does anyone recognise it?

The two adults are the same. If anyone would like to have one of them, let me know.
