| Thank you!
I thought it could be great to add some coat info to explain why the 2 quarters are so similar but different :) _________________ Visit my collection gallery at http://sylobe.deviantart.com/gallery/26714361

| Silvia, I know this does really not belong here, but bear with me Looking at horse colours more from a genetic point of view than a phaenotypic view, isn`t the name "Varnished roan" misleading, you think ? As you write, it does not stem from the Roan-locus, R, at all, but from the complex system of linked genes that can give the various appaloosa- or spotted colours. The more interesting/dangerous for breeders because research show that there seems to be no homozygote true roans, - the R-gene is probably lethal if the foal gets it from both parents |

| Well, names are sometimes a bit confusing!
How interesting about roan! I´ve read some articles and it seems to be true, but not sure. I supose that lethality could be related to linked genes instead of the roan itself. I´ll read more when I have a bit more time, I´m a bit late now xD _________________ Visit my collection gallery at http://sylobe.deviantart.com/gallery/26714361

| Thanks! I also prefer the dark one ^^ It looks more realistic, doesn´t it?
Susanne, I´ve read about roan :) It really seems to be lethal, but breeders don´t notice that because the foal dies very soon inside the utero, even before knowing the mare is pregnant. Anyway, there are some breeds in what Roan gene can be homozygous, like in Belgian Drafts I think. In some other breeds there are no homozygote roan horses, but it´s like if it was a dominant gene, maybe because of different links with other genes. _________________ Visit my collection gallery at http://sylobe.deviantart.com/gallery/26714361

| I´ve been too busy to take some good pics until now, but at least I could take them :) I got this one as Christmas present: He´s gorgeous, but could have been better with a different coat. He´s very similar to the "normal" one. Anyway, I´m pretty happy with him And this little girl arrived last week! Didn´t think I was going to like her so much! She´s very well painted, and her coat cought my eye. I love this kind of chestnut! I also got a Papo unicorn, I´m going to post pics in the Papo section :) Now I´m waiting for the new horses, I hope they will arrive to my city shops next week. Can´t wait to get them :) _________________ Visit my collection gallery at http://sylobe.deviantart.com/gallery/26714361

| Oh sorry!
The first one is the special edition done for Marbach, he´s a warmblood stallion made with the Hannover stallion mold from 2008. His item number is 82142.
The second one is a falabella mare that comes with a book for children, I think the brand of the book is Meyers or something like that. Her tag shows the item number 82816. The mold is the same than the falabella mare 13688.
Thanks everyone for your comments :) _________________ Visit my collection gallery at http://sylobe.deviantart.com/gallery/26714361

| Congratulations, Sylvia They are both lovely horses I always loved that Hannoveranian, and I am sure there is a lot of Hannoveranian in the Marbach also The lovely pony comes from this book : Those books must be really great for small children, btw Just a shame that they only come in German, as far as I know |
