| Thank you very much for posting the photos! They are lovely models! But I am disappointed on the size, even though it is just a little difference. I guess is good because one less brand of horse for me to hunt in my collecting! :)

| oh I don't know having them slightly bigger is quite nice I LOVE the Friesian and Hannoverian bay! Thanks for all the pictures Sylvia, they're great - it's really hard to get CollectA here in the UK, none of the online UK sites sell these horses yet _________________ Harriet My *Collection* My *Handmade Animal Sculpture*

| I couldn´t find any shop where buy them neither any on-line shop with reasonable prices here in Spain, so I had to contact with a distribution company, and they were so kind for selling me the models although they only sell to shops and stores. They sent them very fast and (very important) very well packaged!
Izzy, everything has its good side! :)

| I thought they were bigger. Anyway, I'm going to buy some collecta horses, even if they are bigger than Schleich (which is my main interest :) ). Thanks for posting those pictures. _________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) Blog | Facebook |

| I usually don't give opinions about horses, but what I see here is a slight difference of sizes and, mainly, a big difference in the morphology of the animals! For example, the frisians look to have almost the same length but the CollectA is much more higher, I see short legs in the Schleich one and long legs in the CollectA figure! In this picture a Frisian stallion and you see what kind of legs they have... |

| Yeah, I would say that friesian should have legs somewhere in between Schleich and Collecta, imho. Then he would be much better with proportions _________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) Blog | Facebook |

Who knows it will happen? Are beautiful horses, I love the Schleich and CollectA but are different one from each other! Are nice anyway! I hope someday my niece start collecting horses like some of you do!:) |

Friesian horses are not all equal. There are different types of Friesian: -The baroque type, wich is the most massive and heavy of them. It´s the "old" type, used for carriages and so on. -The modern type is a riding type, it looks like a heavy saddle horse. Its legs are a bit longer and his body is a bit more stylized. -And then we have the Friesian sport horse, wich has a more hunter body: long legs, thin body... In addition, Friesian sport horse is not only black, it can have pinto patterns. As you can see all of them are very similar, but there are subtle differences. I think the Collecta could be a Friesian Sport horse. Anyway, Collecta horses have something I dislike. All of the horses I receive have stretch breast, shoulder, chest and girth; but have prominent barrel and croup (I hope I wrote correctly the English names, I know them in Spanish but sometimes is difficult in a foreing language). When talking about that, I think Scheichs are more proportionated, whereas Collecta horses are more detailed. _________________ Visit my collection gallery at http://sylobe.deviantart.com/gallery/26714361

| Well, you have to remember that Friesian Sport Horse is not a pure Friesian but a crossbreed Anyway, I still think that Collecta's Friesian have a tiny bit too long legs. But I'm going to buy those Collecta horses anyway, they look stunning, even if they are not 100% correct anatomically. But on the other hand, it's very hard to find such models _________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) Blog | Facebook |

I've read your desapeared answer, suddenly!!! It desapeared!!! Fortunately you have donne it again and thanks because is very interesting and informative! We have to ask Deborah which one were in her mind because I see some shared characteristics in her figure, and the Schleich looks nice balanced but less detailed! But, I confess, if I was a horses' collector I wanted the 2 figures! Are very nice and Harriet is right, is a beautiful breed!:) |

I know, all the "-- Sport Horse" are not purebreeds (Irish SH, Spanish SH, Belgian SH...) but are near to be :) And you´re right, even for a friesian SH its legs a bit too long. I like him anyway ^^ Harriet, the baroque type is also my favourite. I prefer baroques rather than saddle types! Friesian, Knabstrupper, Pure Spanish Breed, Lusitanian... All of them are much more beautiful on their baroque "version"! So big, powerful, beautiful and gentle animals... I just love them ^^ I haven´t seen Ladyhawke, I´ll look for the Spanish title and I´ll try to get that film! Roger, thanks for telling. Impressive, wonderfull horse ! Sure! Baroques have a bit of feathers, some lots of feathers, like friesians, and some very few, like Pure Spanish Breed horses, but they have ^^ I would like to know why are they called "feathers" in English, does anybody knows? Susanne, which string do you mean? _________________ Visit my collection gallery at http://sylobe.deviantart.com/gallery/26714361
