May acquisitions. I rearranged my shelves back to being based on taxonomy and found I had room on one of my mammal shelves. So, I thought I would look into the mammal-like reptile ancestors of mammals, the therapsids and other synapsids. I don't collect 'dinosaurs' yet, but I love this group: 1. Dimetrodon grandis (Safari Ltd.) 2. Dinogorgon sp. (Schleich) 3. Edaphosaurus sp. (CollectA) 4. Inostrancevia alexandri (Safari Ltd.) 5. Lystrosaurus murrayi (Kaiyodo) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And speaking of prehistoric critters and mammals, I scored the Vivid Group Alphadon: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Lastly, some miscellaneous acquisitions for the month: 1. bighorn sheep, Ovis canadensis (Safari Ltd.) FINALLY! Got it! Bought it on eBay; had to buy it alongside the original NAW bison, but that's OK. The cost of both was worth it for just the bighorn! 2. brown rat, Rattus norvegicus (Schleich) Like with the eastern chipmunk, nice to see a small version of a small species 3. desert patch-nosed snake, Salvadora hexalepis0 (XX) 4. ocellate sea star, Nectria ocellata (Play Visions) I had the 'knock-off' version, but nice to get the actual PV version [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Wonderful newcomers. Rattus norwegicus reminds me of my good old times at the University.

A few June acquisitions. Not many, but rare, hard-to-get, and (unfortunately this month) more expensive than most: 1. North Atlantic opah, Lampris guttatus (Ikimon) 2. red-lipped batfish, Ogcocephalus darwini (Takara Tomy A.R.T.S.) See my blog review here: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]3. leafy seadragon, Pycodurus eques (Kitan Club) 4. grey-breasted saberwing, Campylopterus largipennis (Kabaya) This figure was simply marketed as 'Amazon hummingbird'. Because hummer identification is so challening, the species ID is a best guess. The seller suggested either Campylopterus largipennis or the olive-spotted hummingbird, Leucippus chlorocercus. I went with the former, mainly for the blue on the cheek/chin. I am just happy to have a good hummingbird figure. They have largely been ignored. 5. † Henkelotherium guimarotae (Yujin) The figure has a peg under its right, front foot. As such, it cannot stand on its own without the base. I would have preferred the version on the tree branch, but I am just happy to have acquired this critter! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Very esquisite models these last ones but I want also to notice the bighorn ram from Safari, I know you wanted it a lot. I am not also a collector of prehistoric creatures but I enjoy equally these mammal ancestors. It is a pity I don't have more extra figures of the Bullyland Procynosuchus. It won't be easy to find now, if it isally is in your cogitations.
