Another picture from Pont-Scorff zoo which has become a wildlife rehabilitation centre. That's a shame it closed down as a zoo, it was a very interesting animal park holding one of the best small cats collection I knew, including my favourite one, the lovely sand cat.

La Flèche zoo, one of the closest to my parents' hometown, known in France for its reality show, is a very mainstream zoo. It gives prominence to well-known, popular and spectacular animals, including leucistic specimens. A questionable choice. However, I have to admit their white tiger male is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. His name is Soah and he does not get along with his female. They often fight and hurt each other. Sometimes, arranged marriages just don't work...

That small monkey was photographed in "La Boissière du Doré", a zoo better known for its great apes. Since this park has a wonderful primate collection and my grandfather loves primates, I visited it many times with my grandparents. Like in many modern zoos, small monkeys are kept in large "aviaries" visitors can enter in rather than in small cages. It is pretty convenient to take closer portraits like this one.

Yes Roger, the panda is one of my best. The quality is decreasing as I posted my nicest pics at the beginning.

I don't know about decreasing quality, the latest ones you showed are still amazing. If I could just take one picture of an animal like that, I'd be very pleased.

Species : Nile crocodile

This one is not especially a beautiful picture but definitely a spectacular one. It was taken in Alligator bay, a large reptile centre close to the famous Mont-Saint-Michel in Normandy. I have already posted pictures from there but I had never presented you the core of this place : its crocodilians collection. Alligator bay has the largest alligator and Nile crocodile groups in Europe. And when the boss of the place, a white-haired crazy guy who looks like John Hammond in Jurassic Park, enters the hothouse and yells "Lunch is served" at his starving dinosaurs, that's always quite an impressive show...
So, tell me, how many crocodiles are there on this picture in your opinion ?

I counted 21 crocs and that is certainly a crowded enclosure

You should know obscene pictures are not allowed on forum.
It doesn't matter how many they are, it won't change anything.

That looks scary. I am surprised that they don't fight amongst each other for the food.

Since it's rhino day on my collection topic, let's post this gentle giant mom grazing with her calf in one of the two huge African plains of La Boissière du Doré. Rhino calves are always living treasures for zoos as they carry the future of their endangered species on their shoulders. Moreover... they are so CUUUUTE !

One of my few attempts of artistic photography in the largest park of my hometown.
This time, I am just going to ask you the following question : What do you see on that picture ? What does it show in your opinion ?

Both are actually reflected in the water !

I have seen sika deer when I have travelled to Dorset, and they are always a nice surprise from the red and fallow that live near me
