| Color variations are exciting, aren´t they? ^^ I collect horses, as you know; and I wanted to share with you my horse color variations (Schleich and CollectA). Would you like to show us yours? :) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]_________________ Visit my collection gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Visit my art gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]I accept commissions! |

This one is not a true variation, these are two separate models based on the same mold _________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Blog | Facebook |

| On Polish Schleich forum people consider it more of a repetition than variety, and so do I _________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Blog | Facebook |

| Great variations!
About the Lipizzaners, I also think it´s a different model because one of them is a gelding and the other one is a mare, but I included them in my "color variation family photo". I also included the 13222 black and brown horses, I think they also are different model because one of them has his mane flowing and the other one not. _________________ Visit my collection gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Visit my art gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]I accept commissions! |

| SyLoBe, could you write me if your bay Collecta hanoverian stallion already had black mane or did you paint it yourself? I have noticed that many (if not all; well, at least those, whose photos were posted by people who bought them) of those horses have unpainted mane. _________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Blog | Facebook |

| Thanks, Sylvia I was wondering, - this is not only Schleich, is it ? Because, I think Bully(land) was THE experts in colour-variants [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And there are many more |

| You're right Susanne However, each Schleich model is usually supposed to be in one colour variation, that's why every difference from, let's call it, standard is often valued by collectors _________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Blog | Facebook |

And there are many more No Susanne, not only Schleich; you should show us all your color variations ^^ I like a lot the brown on the right in this photo :) If I have time, tomorrow I will look for my Papo and Safari horses, I think there are some color variations in the big box where they are kept. _________________ Visit my collection gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Visit my art gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]I accept commissions! |

| I know, of course , just thought they are fun Hi, Sylvia, my post and your must have "hit" at the same time. Above was not for you I think it is fun to see also same molds being painted differently. Like the Schleich Palominio Shetland that is a paint in front of the little cart, or a horse being re-used for an indian or whatever. Also if it is not strictly to the book And now Roger beat me I will send thi, and see what happens

| Only a question for our horse girls and ladies! :) Color variations are only when there is a update of colouring in the same mould or also different paintworks of a same line production, or even when they are painted in different places? |

| I don't know how about others, but for me a variation is a slight difference in painting within the same model, I mean the same catalog number So, I don't consider the two Shetland mares (13297 - the pinto one; and 42040 - the palomino one with the carriage) as variations but as two different models based on the same mold. Variation fo me would be clearly e.g. different pattern on Pinto stallion, like here: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] (photo isn't mine) - it's the same model (13616) but as you can see, the pattern is a bit different. _________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Blog | Facebook |

| As color variations I understand different paint jobs. For example, a dark and a light bay in the same model, or like the little Shetland mare, a chestnut paint and a palomino :) When painting in different places the paint should be the same, and sometimes is really difficult to say where the model was painted; but sometimes there are differences: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]About what Mangalarga says, I think the example don´t suits for me :) I consider them as color variations because they took the mare, painted her in a different way and included her in the package with the carriage, so they changed her item number. So, for me, they are the same model with different paintjob. The same with Satchmo, I consider it as a color variation of the mold _________________ Visit my collection gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Visit my art gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]I accept commissions! |

| I too count variations as in a slightly different colour or shade on the same issue number.
So my Haflinger foals are variations because one is darker than the other. |

| I think as far as there are rules to this, yes, variants are "Unintentional" differences in the same item no. But I also think it is fun to see the others, what should we call them like Roger described |
