| Thank you everyone! It was really a fun project to tackle. :) @Kiki, the bootlegg is a little different in the posture of the first 1/3 of its body (its not as tightly coiled as the original) but it is otherwise identical. I assume that change was made for ease of replicating the mould. _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | Excellent repaints Paige, they all look fantastic and very well done! And nice to see the underside details as well, which just completes the whole model. Congratulations on your commission from NMR Okapi! |

| Congratulations on being commissioned! Your customs are so cool! These are exceptional, I love the dholes and how different you made them, and all those spots look incredible! I've never heard of marozi before, that's pretty wild, had to look them up. And the rainbow boa, wow!! Excellent work on a really challenging color scheme! All of them look great, I bet they were received with delight. |

| A belated but deeply appreciative thank you to you all; Taylor, Annette, Jill, and Shanti! I finally got my repainting desk space set up and set out to use it. Before I moved I had a few models I had started but not yet completed. I got a few of them redone today! First up is a prehistoric- Came across this giant polybag wild republic figure years ago and finally repainted it. The goal here was to present an Ailurarctos to the collection- I think the sculpt looks just "off" enough to pass as "not quite a giant panda". I think it turned out pretty well. Funnily enough, despite the bicolor palette I chose, this was a difficult pattern to come up with and make it satisfactory to me. What do you think? I wanted it to hint at the descent of this animal, but be unique from the giant panda we know today. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Then two birds who needed a redo of their first redo. These are chinamal copies of the Schleich birds. I repainted them 3 or 4 years ago and put a clear coat on them. I am unsure of what exactly happened with these two but the coating became incredibly sticky and a pain. It took a long time to repaint over this coat and get the paint layer to soak into and dry the coating, and then get the base paint coat to apply evenly so I could repaint them again. But I got em done pre-move and gave them time to see if they truly did dry out finally (they did). Now I have given a fresher coat of paint and think they turned out even better than the originals I did. I may still change the toucan's eye color as I am unsure I like how this shade dried but... they're complete at long last. military macaw and white-throated toucan [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]_________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | I like your color choice for that prehistoric panda. It keeps the connection with the bicolored pattern of a giant panda but different enough to give identity to it. I would not be so creative, maybe I would feel tempted to replicate a raccoon color which is quite boring when you basically don't have a tail to paint. I read these creatures eated bamboo, that's so cool. |

| I like very much your idea of making an Ailurarctos, it makes me want to follow the same path. Customs sometimes cause problems with certain varnishes or paints, and it's true that they sometimes stick. Congratulations on your second rescue. I experienced the same problem myself this week, I was taking some photos to present my "scaled" collection when I discovered that my African wild ass had taken some knocks during my move. I didn't notice it at the time, but it was obvious in front of the camera. |

| Well done on getting your painting desk set up Paige. These are all great, you have a nice strong vibrant painting style. I like the way you have done the extinct panda, with the fur transitioning between colours. It looks good! and I really like the eyes of the toucan, very nice. That shade of blue goes great on it as well. Nice to see the little flecks of grey around the parrots face. The chinamals really do look great repainted.
Glad you managed to sort out the sticky issue. I very rarely coat my repaints, particularly without knowing the longevity of any clear coat I would use. The acrylics I have been using are proving to be water tight though, so at the moment I don't need to seal the coats. - did you see the Britains tigers I resculpted and painted on my collection thread? They are done in acrylics. |

| Thank you Ken! Another recent larger figure finished up! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Tigers are not my favorite animal but they were my university's mascot so being a "bengal" is a special to me. I wanted to practice some stripes (like a masochist) and this one really worked my OCD temptation over... I won though by finishing an UNEVEN and unique striped pattern. I think it looks nice anyway... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]_________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | I love those stripes! It works more natural than straighter ones. So our wolfie is a tiger with wolf fur. |

| Thank you everyone! It never seems like it but stripes are hard, and my instinct is to make them symmetrical when doing them. Then I forget how fraught stiped project was and I then choose another stipey or spotted animal and alas here we go again...! [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], You could say that I suppose. Maybe just a wolf with some big cat ferocity buried somewhere. _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs.
