Great to see the beaver again !

Interesting to see some figures like the ant or the snail. Have you tried to identify the beaver? Differences between the European and American species are not so obvious but that popse is quite typical for the American species. Checking the tail and a few minor details, do you think it is identifiable?

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]: first, I was also thinking it could be the American beaver. But the European has a much larger head. Here, I have some examples. I think the older beaver from Schleich fits perfect to the American one:

I never noticed that detail about the head proportions. Considering those pictures you're showing, your identifications are surely convincing.

those features are way to soft and subtle to be interpreted in a toy a couple centimeters tall. Given Papo's predilection for local fauna, it is most probably a European beaver (but the ambiguity allows the collector to chose :)

Nice kudu figure

Was it my first antelope figure? I am not sure but I remember how excited I was when I saw it for the first time. Our collecting tastes change with time, Schleich released a smaller one and also very good and I replaced my loved Papo kudu. I did the same with my Papo gemsbok and I am sure I will replace my Papo impala if CollectA releases one. It is not fair, I don't know why we make choices but we can't keep everything if we want to continue collecting. I still find it a sumptuous model, congratulations.

My first Kudu was the old 90ies Schleich Kudu. Later I've also got the second one from Schleich, which you also have. But I replaced it with the one from Papo, which has much more details.

Papo renewed some of their wonderful oldies. This Was the chance for me to get the Leatherback turtle. The paintjob is at its point and the sculpture is beautiful in its shape:

Best leatherback turtle figure ever! :) I had it before being retired. I't good to see that is has been re-released, so the people that missed the chance of get it years ago, can buy it now :)

This is why I never understand collectors' anger when a really nice figure is re-released - it's got to be a good thing that more people have the chance to buy it, and improvement in the paintwork in the meantime is a bonus! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

No, it is a number painted but there is a chance your model don't have it. Mine is 1411 on its feet. Mine is from the first production run, I guess.
