| Actually, I have had a second look at CollectA 2021 figures and they are very good. There is now clearly a huge gap between what Scheich figures look like and what CollectA models look like. I mean, just compare the CollectA boxer with the Schleich Jack Russel I think I am just disappointed by CollectA because I am expecting a lot more from them than from the other brands. The proboscis monkey is Schleich's only original species this year but I do not repproach them to release a platypus or a badger and I am very enthusiastic about these releases because I know this is a very "mainstream" brand. I am expecting CollectA to give me an anoa, a bearded pig or a corsac fox but their choice to replace their old obsolete models for common species is understandable and the kangaroo male, otter or koala are marvellous as usual. |

| CollectA has already outrun Schleich long ago. :) Schleich is more on the toy range for smaller kids but Collecta makes models for collectors as well (at least I think. :) ) . |

| The otter is marvelous. Do you think Papo's and CollectA can fit as different species? Thanks! |

Do you think Papo's and CollectA can fit as different species? Thanks! No, they are both Lutra lutra, and probably both the mainland/nominate subspecies, L. l. lutra. If you want a different subspecies, you have to go to Kaiyodo. I am on the fence about keeping Papo or replacing it with CollectA. For now, I think I am content with Papo. |

| Subject: Collecta Ordering Thu Jan 28, 2021 4:15 am | |
| Dear Sts Friends:
Hi, I was wondering, how does a person like me order Collecta figures through their website? Do you have to have an account, or can you just go there, and put the figures you want in your cart? Just wondering, because I'm thinking of doing exactly that, just ordering the figures I want right from their website. So what can I do? Any advice would be much appreciated.
Aschuck

| I don't think CollectA sells directly from their website. I think they only sell through other storefronts, in the US places like happyhentoys.com or storefronts on ebay etc. _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | If I had an extra room to convert entirely to shelving, I'd be collecting so much of CollectA's output - the releases this year are just so good. My favourites are probably the koala and otter, and from the horses, the chincoteague, konik, and mongolian. I think Chunky-leg Syndrome is less obvious in the breeds which are naturally more stocky, so the breeds which should be sharp-boned and clean legged, like the Hackney, Marwari, and Paso look off, on the small hardy native/feral types and draft horse breeds, they're more in proportion.
I'm in two minds about the repaints, though - I've already got the black dun icelandic, and generally my rule with CollectAs offered in two colour options at the same time has been to choose the version I like best, so my common sense says I don't need to get a second one just cos they made it. But on the other hand, the bay dun is very pretty, and I do love Icelandics, so maybe... |
