It seems that the first batch of CollectA's 2025 figurines will be prehistoric animals, specifically dinosaurs!

Two very very tempting models Very Happy

I'm very pleased that CollectA has decided to drop the systematic spines on the Ceratopsians. I also like the slightly simpler colours, which are more to my taste.

I also love that the brand continues to offer us animals from the Paleozoic era.

Despite the minimal marketing and seemingly insufficient in-store presence, this brand continues to demonstrate a strong foundation. If this were not the case, it would not be possible to introduce figures like these to the market after all these years. It continues to offer quality products at very reasonable prices and even presents figures with great scientific interest. I am truly excited to see what more they will bring this year. bounce bounce

Very nice news, I like a lot the two prehistoric guys, on my too long wishlist!
The leopard gecko seems very very fine but I probably pass because the Safari Ltd is already taking up a lot of space.
The Blobfish is very...impressive and the species is missing in my aquariums.
I could be tempted by this dappled grey Percheron.

Unfortunately the blobfish shows it in its traumatized state, not its natural state.

Ooh I didn't see the others! The horses are nice as always, but I don't collect horses. The Blobfish is interesting but I agree with [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], I would have preferred its natural state. But I guess most people wouldn't recognize it then.

The leopard gecko is nice, do we know sizes yet? I already have quite a few in my collection and I'm very happy with my large Safari. But I might get it if its around the same size as Toymany's.

A decent first batch, even though I'm slightly concerned that they revealed only six models. Hopefully there will be more models in further batches, even though I don't really believe that.

I really like the Leopard Gecko! Probably the nicest one from the currently available renditions.

The prehistoric animals look quite cool as well.

The Percheron looks fairly nice with her refreshed coat colour and I really like her face markings. I just hope that the dapples turn out nicely.

The Friesian mare is also a nice addition to their deluxe line, they haven't released a new mould for it in years. But I don't collect such big models so she doesn't interest me.

Will be very excited to see how that continues.

Why concerned? Releasing six at once isn't alarming. The number per week varies. Nothing out of the ordinary here.

Have to agree here. Pretty decent batch, especially with the Blobfish. However, just like you said, I'll still wait for more batches with Wild Life & Farm Time figures.

It's just the first batch, CollectA will present more figures for 2025. Certainly Farm and wildlife will receive new models to the range.

About the blobfish let me share CollectA's presentation which seems quite clear.

"The Blobfish is a deep-sea fish known for its unusual, gelatinous appearance. It inhabits waters off the coasts of Australia, Tasmania, and New Zealand,
at depths ranging from 600 to 1,200 meters (2,000 to 3,900 feet). At such depths, the extreme pressure helps maintain the fish's structure. However, when
brought to the surface, the drastic reduction in pressure causes the blobfish to "deflate" and appear soft and saggy, giving it its distinctive blob-like
appearance. Blobfish gained popularity as "the world's ugliest animal" after a 2013 online vote, which gave them a bit of a cult following due to their
peculiar appearance."

This photo demonstrates why many people are complaining about CollectA's new blowfish figurine. It's possible that CollectA may change this figure or that it serves to highlight the cruelty present in nature.

I understand CollectA's presentation. It was clear without an explanation. It doesn't change the fact that it is a traumatized, and ultimately dead, individual, and dead at the hands of human activity. Might as well market figures of roadkill.

Marketing a blobfish the way it is supposed to look would much better educate their audience, instead of playing on an internet meme.

I understand Blaine, I only shared CollectA's prresentation to reduce the trauma. Laughing They favored the most mediatic side of the poor fish.

The gecko and the ceratopsian are also nice

I'm in agreement that the dead blobfish was a terribly bad choice, not only misleading to all the kids (and adults) who'll think this is their natural state while living, but also disrespectful to the creature itself. Imagine if their only chicken figure was sculpted headless and plucked just because more people see them that way in supermarkets every day than see them alive on farms - that's the same as making a bloated blobfish just cos this 'look' is better known on the internet than the way they are alive.

The gecko is lovely, though, what a great sculpt, it's got such character and life in the stance and the turn of the head!

The dappled Percheron is a huuuge improvement on the old colour, where the grey was bare plastic with just a little bit of shading on the legs, this one's beautifully done and I like the face markings, too. There seems to be a weird yellowy-green tone on the side of her belly, though, I'm not sure if it's just the picture or whether that's part of the paintjob design. And yeah, I've had a grey horse, they DO get grass stains or lay in pee puddles, but that's a bit too much realism to need to recreate on a model? Laughing

The Friesian is a gorgeous action sculpt, I really like the flying mane and handsome face - it's a pity this is for the expensive deluxe range though! I haven't managed to convince myself they're worth the extra money yet, at £28 here ($36/€34) they're nearly three times the cost of the standard CollectAs. And for that price you really do only get more size, not more detailed/accurate/artistic paintjobs too - if anything they're less well painted cos the eyes are just solid shiny black, and don't have pink in the corners or brown/blue irises like the recent standard-scale 'repaint' releases have been given.
