| What an interesting batch. It might be even my favourite so far.
I really like the Takahe, it's a very beautiful model even with it's slightly "overwhelming" base. The clours of the feathers blend in nicely.
The marmot looks awesome! I really like how they made his fur and facial expression.
The Haflinger stallion has a very nice pose, I just hope that he stands well. All the horses were nice so far but CollectA didn't reveal a single new breed for now. I hope that that will change with the next batches.
The blacksmith is a very interesting idea. I like that concept, even Schleich didn't release one (at least in the recent years). That is definitely a set I will look out for.

| I love having something to look forward to on Friday mornings I am by far most excited for the Takahe, as it is a species I don't have in my collection. It will be a great addition to my nearly-empty New Zealand display. I also wish it didn't have the grass between the legs, but CollectA tends to use a softer material so it would probably fall over otherwise. The marmot looks really great too! I already have Schleich's, Papo's, & Bullyland's, but this looks like it could be the best of the bunch. I may have to add it to my European Alps display along with the new Chamois I'm excited for the next two weeks! So far I will just be getting 2-3 of the new CollectA. I'd love to add more to that list. _________________ Jolie

| Some collectors have written that CollectA will be releasing a Gemsbock and Armadillo figurine for their 2025 lineup. Does anyone in this forum have any information about these releases? |

Too bad I bought the Papo a few months ago, but I couldn't predict Collecta would release its own version in 2025. The Papo model is very nice, but too big in comparison with my other Alpine animals (Eurasian lynx, mouflon and ibex) when I put it on display on my bookcase. Can you share a photo of Papo Chamois vs other Alpine animals? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The chamois is too massive next to the Eurasian lynx (Papo), the Corsican mouflon (Collecta) and the Alpine Ibex (Collecta). It should be shorter than the Ibex I knew it would be slightly oversized before I bought it, but I ordered it anyway, because I found it beautiful, unlike the failed model from Bullyland. I hope Collecta's rendition will be smaller. The marmot would also be a nice addition to my Alpine fauna. Too bad that we Europeans, will have too wait so long before they get released here. |

| It's been a hot minute since the first announcement, I was just struggling a little to compose my thoughts.
So far I really like the new prehistorics- the jaekelopterus and arctodus especially. I think the color is mostly what is letting the bear down- I like that they took some inspiration from its closest living relative in the spectacled bear, but the pale blue gray is making the depth of the porportions a bit odd to visualize.
The horses of course are lovely- I agree that the "lipizzan" does not really look like one though. I think the halflinger and percheron are my favorites so far. Honestly, the dalmatian is a bit of a hot mess- hoping its the weird angle of it but the entire body type is wrong (too boxy, thick, and squared off- more like a dalmatian spotted labrador).
The wildlife are all nice and will likely be joining my curation. Honestly I was quite upset over the blobfish- but what I think has already been said- just a shame someone didn't say something about this. No way someone looked up a blobfish online at SOME POINT during the development of the figure and the live animal didn't show up. Simple negligence on their part to produce such a thing outside of a gimmick novelty toy like Archie McPhee figures.
As usual, I desperately hope for a new wolf sculpt (or pair of them) as theirs are terribly outdated... but I am sure I will be left wanting for yet another year... _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | I thought i had replied to this post already. I am pleasantly surprised by this shortfaced bear. Although I dont really get why it is looking up, when it is standing upright. I did also enjoy the review by Everything Dinosaur on YouTube [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

| 80028 Tennessee Walking Horse Stallion In the Horse World the Tennessee Walking Horse Stallion is getting company. This time CollectA created the coat colour Buckskin Tobiano. Buckskin Tobiano is a fascinating combination of two different colour patterns in horses: Buckskin horses typically have a golden or yellowish body with black points, including the mane, tail, and legs. Tobiano is characterized by large, white patches on the body, often crossing the back. The legs are usually white, and the head often has fewer white markings. CollectA have lovingly implemented the colour details and the result is a very eye-catching and beautiful appearance. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| 80039 Gallimimus 1:40 scale In the pre-historic world CollectA is introducing Gallimimus (Gal-lee-my-mus) - A CollectA Deluxe 1:40 scale model of an ostrich mimic dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous of Mongolia. Gallimimus is the biggest ornithomimid dinosaur known to science. It measured around 6 metres in length, and it had a hip height of approximately 1.9 metres. Better preserved fossils of related dinosaurs indicate that Gallimimus was probably feathered. The CollectA Deluxe figure features a brightly coloured and fleshy wattle on the throat. Scientists have noted the discovery of three-toed tracks near the foot bones of a Gallimimus. Finding dinosaur tracks in close association with body fossils is quite rare. Unfortunately, dinosaur fossil dig sites have fallen victim to poachers. It's likely that the rest of the Gallimimus skeleton was stolen. Examples of these footprints are depicted on the display base of the Gallimimus figure, the base also features the fossil foot bones, highlighting the issues surrounding illegal fossil poaching. | 80046 Megamouth Shark he Oceans & Ice line is enlarged by the Megamouth Shark (Megachasma pelagios). It is one of the rarest and most mysterious shark species in the world. The Megamouth Shark was first discovered in 1976. Since then, only a few hundred specimens have been documented. It is a large, soft-bodied shark with a distinctive appearance that sets it apart from most other species. It typically measures between 4 to 5 meters (13 to 16 feet) in length, though some individuals can grow up to 7 meters (23 feet), and it can weigh as much as 1,200 kilograms (2,600 pounds). Its most notable feature is its massive, bulbous head and an extremely wide mouth, which contains numerous small, hooked teeth arranged in rows. The shark's body has a flabby texture and is dark brown to greyish-black on the back, with a lighter, contrasting underside. Its dorsal fins are relatively small and rounded, appearing undersized compared to its large body. This unique combination of features gives the megamouth shark a distinctive, almost prehistoric look. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| For 2025, CollectA has expanded the "Play World" range. We want to give our young fans the opportunity to create a landscape scenery for their animal figures. We call our new item the "CollectA Playbook". In today's release, we present the CollectA Prehistoric World Playbook and the CollectA Horse Country Playbook. The CollectA Book stands upright like a book; when laid flat and the four sides are folded down, it forms the playfield. The base plate is covered with a landscape graphic. Cardboard landscape elements, such as a barn and jump gate in the horse world or a mountain and volcano in the prehistoric world, are inserted into the side walls. Plastic feet allow for further customization with additional play elements. Additional plastic platforms expand the play possibilities. Besides the described elements, each set also includes two plants and two mini play figures, two mini dinosaurs, or two mini horses. Another interesting detail is that, when the CollectA Playbooks are laid open on the table, they can be connected via snap connections. You can either combine two different worlds or friends with CollectA Playbooks can build a large play world from multiple CollectA Playbooks. There are no limits to creativity, and of course, figures in the CollectA standard sizes can also be included in the play. | CollectA is releasing their 5th batch of figurines next week. While I haven't been particularly impressed with their previous offerings, I'm hopeful that the new figurines might surprise me. Perhaps I will end up buying two or three figurines next year if they appeal to me. |
