Great models! Love all three of those molds so much. That buckskin pair were actually my cake toppers for one of my childhood birthdays! A very special set. :) Congrats on getting all of them!

I love them all and my favorite are G1 models. Yes, the scratching is a very special one, just like the Britains model.

Great to have the Morgans as cake toppers! I got 5 more Generation 1 Stablemates via Fallon. First, the “Arabian Stallion” in a subtle and beautiful dappled chestnut:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

The Arabian Stallion was made in this colour in 1992 and the sculpt is from 1975. 4500 were made in this colour.

The second is the “Morgan mare”. Note that this is a mare and the Morgan with foal that I showed in my previous post is meant to be a stallion. This chocolate-sorrel mare was produced in 1992 and 1994, the sculpt is from 1976.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

And finally, three “Silky Sullivans”. Silky Sullivan was an American thoroughbred racehorse in the late 1950s and was famous for winning races after coming from behind. I didn’t know, but apparently “being a Silky Sullivan” still means being someone who comes from behind to win in politics or sports.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

My dark chestnut version probably comes closest to the real Silky Sullivan, although the real horse was a bit lighter and had a white star on his forehead. The dark chestnut version was the first Silky Sullivan that Breyer produced (1976-1994), so I assume they chose it to represent Silky Sullivan.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

The other two colour versions are quite different, a black leopard (1996) and a black pinto (1997).
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

The pinto has a pink nose. I initially thought it might be a stain, but no, it's meant to be this way.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

It was great to be able to buy a few G1s in the US, as they aren’t so easy to come by in the UK. Next time, some newer horses that also arrived earlier this week.

That's an extremely nice lot of G1s! Beautiful! I've never seen that dapple Arabian stallion before! Very Happy I was super bewildered by the red nose on the Silky, too. I'm not sure why they made it so very red . . . That original Silky is really a handsome boy, though.

It's interesting how many of the moulds were sculpted as portrait models of famous racehorses in the G1 selection. These days if any real racehorses get a portrait Stablemate done, they re-use a sculpt which was already in the range (like American Pharoah, Justify, and War Admiral, which are all on the G2 Thoroughbred Mare mould Laughing )

The gen 1 models are really all so great, each one is a masterpiece in my eyes. Congrats on another batch of stunners!

I love your Silky. It is a quite discreet horse, with a small head, a simple tail, delicate legs and good geometry. It is a horse, just a horse. Naturally the dark chestnut version is the color that works better. Though, it is amazing to see how it looks so different as a leopard or a pinto. It is not surprising that so many people love to repaint horses. That's more than colors, horses really look like they have different sculpts. It is also clever that you photographed them in different angles.

That's right, the G1s are quite discreet, no wild manes or tails.

And yes, I like it when a horse is modelled after a real horse, or even if it is just named after a real horse; it gives them some history and authenticity.

Beautiful new horses, so delicate and detailed! cheers
I love their dainty style compared with most horse models, with the legs actually in proportion to the body! cheers I love the dappled chestnut too, such wonderful colouring! Very Happy

That's right, Breyer doesn't make the legs and also head too large, as modern companies often do. It's clear that they are aimed at collectors rather than children, because the material they use makes the legs quite fragile.

A few more ...
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I mainly bought this group for the standing foal. I am not so excited about all Breyer’s foals, but I like this one:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

This foal was first released in 2006 and this colour version is from 2007-8.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

The Warmblood is also a new model for me.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I don’t know what breed it represents. The sculpt is from 1998, but I think this version comes from the “Buffalo Bill Rough Rider Play Set” (2005-6). As such, it originally came with Buffalo Bill and saddle, but it looks like the horse was so rough that he threw them off.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

And another new sculpt, the American Saddlebred (1998, this colour 2005-6). It has yellowed a bit. I don’t know how this happens, could it be due to sunlight? It’s mainly on her back, tail and mane, so I wonder whether she has discoloured due to long-term dust.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Here she is with the G1 saddlebred, which looks quite different.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

This lot also came with a Peruvian Paso (2006, this version 2006-8 ). “Identify my Breyer” says it is a red roan. It's interesting that he has "chestnuts" (hardened part of skin on the inner legs), something none of my other Breyers has.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

A fine looking horse, but not as striking as the pinto I got before:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

And finally, another Appaloosa (that doesn’t look like an Appaloosa). Nice colour though.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

The Appaloosa model is from 1998, this colour version from 2006-7.

Congrats on another great haul of stablemates! I like the peruvian paso in roan, though his eyes does make him look quite worried about that horse coming up behind him. Laughing That foal is definitely a really cute little guy.

Of course that foal is the main charmer here! I really like both appaloosa models too, I have the moulds in a few colors. Great batch to see again, congrats! And the comparison of the saddlebreds is very neat to see.

Thank you all! You are right Jill, the roan Peruvian Paso is looking out of the corners of his eyes to see who is following him.

Now the last lot and then you are up to date with all my Breyers again. They are all from the same seller, but I bought them individually or in pairs in Ebay auctions. First, a “Prancing Morgan” and “Trotting foal”. Not my top choices, but I won the auction for a very low price and the foal is a new model in my collection, so pretty happy with them. They were sold together between 2000 and 2002 as “Pinto stallion and foal”. The stallion’s mould is from 1998 and the foal’s from 2000.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Then we have two “American Saddlebreds” (mould from 1998). I had already bought one (see above), but I was interested in the dappled grey Saddlebred (2000-2), as it’s a colour that I hadn’t got yet. It’s an interesting pattern, but I actually prefer the palomino version (1998-2000); somehow, I find that it works better with the ribbon in her hair.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

So now I suddenly have three Saddlebreds:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

We now turn to the most exciting new acquisitions in this lot. First an “Arabian rearing” (mould 1998, this version 1998-2000). Perhaps white isn’t the most exciting colour, but I like the Breyer rearing models.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Actually, I thought I had bought another “Rearing Andalusian”, but when I put them next to each other, I realised that they are different:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

That’s good, because I didn’t have an “Arabian rearing” yet.

Even more exciting (in my opinion) is the buckskin blanket “Appaloosa” (1998, this version 1998-2000). Yes, I already had four other Appaloosas, but this one is probably the most colourful of all horses in my collection. Very attractive.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Can the Appaloosa breed have a blanket pattern? I am guessing it can. Here we have all my Appaloosas:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I bought the chestnut Appaloosa individually as my second Breyer, but it turns out that I didn’t have to do this, because I am getting lots of Appaloosas anyway. Never mind, I am still happy to have it, you can never get too many Breyers.

The new Appaloosa model may be the most colourful horse, but it isn’t the most striking. I think that honour goes to this chestnut leopard horse. The model was originally meant to be a thoroughbred, but it has been used here to represent an Appaloosa too.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

It’s stunning and really stands out. I bought it together with a chestnut blanket scrambling foal. They were sold together between 2000 and 2002 as “Appaloosa and foal”. The adult mould is from 1998 and the foal is from 2000.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Taylor advised me to look out for the mule, which I did, and I found it!
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

It’s the first mule in my entire collection. I like it, the black leopard pattern is very striking, but I do feel that Breyer make a bit of fun of this “pseudo horse”. I can’t imagine that they would make a horse that pulls this kind of face:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

In any case, it's an interesting and realistic pose. I had to check, but mules can indeed have a leopard pattern. The mould is from 1998 and this black leopard version was produced from 1998 to 2000. Here is the mule with the Breyer donkey:

Another wonderful herd! You've really gotten lucky with these finds. This bunch has so many nostalgic feelings in it for me, hahaha. I got many of them while in high school. That mule is one of my favorites, it's such a delightful mold and a really great paint job. Congratulations! So many spots in this round! cheers

Many great models, Roger! what a Stablemate fever you got.
From the previous batch with the proud foal and rough horse to a completely unexpected leopard mule. Laughing I also enjoy the Appaloosa posing like a charging bull and the rearing horse is really impressive. :)

Great Arabians, Taylor! Even though they are all horses, it's amazing how different Breyer has managed to make them, both in terms of poses and colours. I think I am beginning to get into Stablemate collecting now Very Happy. Thank you all for your comments!
