My collection shelf by shelf

From now on, this will be the thread where I will post photos of my collection.

All the animals I have are arranged after 3 important criteria:
1) THEY MUST NOT TOUCH EACH OTHER
2) IF POSSIBLE, THEY HAVE TO BE FROM THE SAME GEOGRAPHICAL REGION
(this rule has recently been neglected due to the lack of space)
3) THEY NEVER REMAIN IN THE SAME POSITION
(each shelf took me at least 2 months of practice in order to use the limited space in the best way possible)

Whenever a new model comes home and is also worth staying in the spotlight (my 2m open vitrine), the 3 rules must be respected. If the animal isn't so important or it is extinct, it either goes to one of my other cabinets, which have no windows, or the Prehsitoric Panorama display. It is a deadly game for some critters, 'cause you never know when you'll get replaced.

The first photos will be of my 100% African displays, 2 shelves at the base of the tall vitrine, staying in semi obscurity because of the little light reaching them:

What is the small sitting mandrill on the second pic ?

It is a porcelain figurine bought from a boutique near the Sacre Coeur basilique in Paris.
I have 2 others, a mallard duck and an emperor penguin family. The other 2 are 5 times more realistic and some of the best replicas I have seen. I don't know the name of the brand, but I do have the original box they were packaged into and there is something written onto it. I also know they are handmade and I can tell you some more of the species the artist makes.

Beautiful collection Mihnea - I see you have the Bullyland Gnu, it's retired isn't it?

I also love the little Mandrill, he's really realistic, please post pictures of your other ones They look familiar to me.

Congrats my yong friend! You need some more place of course for real "African landscape" with baobab, acacia and others! There is not limit for perfection! (russian saying)

Thank you my friends! I do need a bit more space. My dinosaurs are currently using the baobab as a scratching post!

I just got the catalogue from CollectA, but it says their new snow leopard will not be there untill July.

Yes, it's the one from Safari.
I also have the snow leopard from Bullyland, but it had to go because I had that beautiful tigress coming in!

Mihnea I know this make very well - I have a little horse made by them the company is called "Klima" they've been going for around 25 years, and they are produced in France.

I discovered the make a couple of years ago, and since then have seen the figurines in gift shops - I would really like to have more too but I'm controlling myself!

Congratulation- a really nice collection. But which brand are the 2 raccons and the Mandrill after the Playvisions Genet? And important- the bird with the red crown by the bald eagles?
