Childhood Treasures of Shanti Empty
PostSubject: Childhood Treasures of Shanti   Childhood Treasures of Shanti EmptyFri 19 Feb 2021, 16:54

I was cleaning our cabinets and ran into an older carton with older toys that I kept. So to speak my little treasures from childhood. Some of them are heavy worn but still very nice. They are from different brands, some Britains, some Elastolin or Preiser, other just some cheap made in Hong Kong. I have more to come if you are interested.  Very Happy

Wonderful childhood figures! The last one is the Hausser Elastolin raccoon, but yes, the way it is painted it looks more like a red panda. The tiger is from Hausser Elastolin and the longhorn cattle and brown cattle too. It looks like they are soft plastic, so from the 54 mm series (rather than 70 mm).

They are all wonderful, and I agree with Paige that those sherolais cattle are adorable drunken

The highland bull looks much like the Britains one, doesn't it ? A truely great model !

But perhaps most of all I am in love with the tiny raccoon I love you

Thankyou for sharing ! These days I collect good news as were they made of choclate Laughing

Thank you so much my friends for all your kind words!  Very Happy I am very happy you like these old figurines as I do!  Very Happy

@rogerpgvg Thank you for all these informations!! I think the cattle is indeed the smaller variety, they are small compared to the Britains cattle (sadly, I wished I could use them in a Dio with some Breyer Stablemates).

You made my Day @SUSANNE!! Laughing Laughing I love you
The Highland Bull or maybe Aurochs? is marked with "Made in Hong Kong", no Britains Signatur.

I think I need one of these Lego parts for size comparison. cyclops bounce

Finding old childhood toys must be a very special experience! Mostly when they're so beautiful as these ones. Oh, I love so much the Charolais, That was a relatively common breed here. All other figures are also very beautiful, I am convinced the Hong Kong is a Highland, it has a style reminescent of Britains. If you have more, I surely want to see. bounce bounce

I was going through this entire content of this carton and it brought back a lot of childhood memories! Very Happy

Here is another batch. Very small (1-2cm), very soft rubber style creatures. Some wouldn't stand well so they needed a companion. Smile

The new batch looks very charming, but I can't help identifying them. The Highland steer is a Britains knock-off. Quite a good knock-off.

Are the Elastolin cows much smaller than the Charollais? The 54 mm Elastolins should only be slightly smaller; if they are much smaller, then they may be knock-offs too.

No, not long gone Very Happy. They are still made and sold: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Britains-43240-Multicoloured/dp/B07MBZJQ91/ref=sr_1_31?dchild=1&keywords=britains+charollais&qid=1613832179&sr=8-31

The Elastolin cows are a bit smaller, but not much.

I know some Britains are still available but they don't look as good as in the old days. Cheaper I would say. Sad

And another three funny creatures. I think the larger ones are Bullyland classic (WesternGermany on the right leg inside). Don't know what the little one is. Just funny. Laughing
Sorry they are a bit blurry, it was getting darker outside..

The size together of the red cow and the charolais bull look almost right cheers
You are so right, those old Britains are much nicer than the newer ones, - which are ok, I think Wink
