BEAUTYofBEASTS Chinese desert cat: a walkaround by Kikimalou

Before having seen this wonderful model in the Beauty of Beasts web showcase, the Felis bieti species was completely unknown to me (it appears on the first page of my book on carnivores though...) This wild cat lives in China, in the northeastern part of the Tibetan Plateau, it is somewhat larger than its European cousin, the wildcat Felis sylvestris, and its coat is paler.
Its survival is threatened, not least because it feeds on Pikas poisoned by the Chinese government to limit their proliferation.

After this slightly sad introduction, it's time to move on to the little gem concocted by Qingyu Li

Great walkaround. Photos 2-4 show how good the pose is, very feline. I'm not crazy with the way the eyes are painted, but that's a detail that probably won't show at all in a small model like this.
I did not know this species either, but I searched and this model looks very accurate and realistic. The photo I post looks almost like it's the same individual.

I find it again a fabulous model and I love every detail on it. Obviously a mass produced model cannot get the same level of quality but it was really fantastic if some Chinese brands released animals like these instead of borrowing some famous model figures. Perfect walk around as always and the comparison pictures are the best possible.

Another wonderful walkaround of a stunning model made by this sculptor- this cat is beautiful, and the fur looks so real- and so fluffy!!
I love the pose and looking at other photos posted here, it looks so accurate and true to the real species- perfect colouring and markings! These models are definitely worth their money- the fur strokes are always in the right direction, with perfect proportions!

Very beautiful cat! What kind of resin is it made of? A plasticky kind or a stony kind? It's good to see these resin models and that there is now a section on resin models in STS.

Wonderful model of a not well known species whose pictures are also no common but i already knew the 1st one up which undoubtly inspired the artist! Some specialists think that this species is juste à nordic giant form of Felis silvestris ornata.

@spacelab I agree with you about the pose, there is still a lot of felines on BoB shop and I chose this one because of its pose. about the eyes, I used an excellent macrolens to make the pics, I'm affraid it is too excellent for the purpose. In real life eyes are looking very fine. For sure you have found the original pic.
