| I just thought I would make a topic on this brand as I would be so interested to know if anyone knows more about the models in their range/ has any to show here! This website here provides a really good introduction: https://www.northlighthorses.com/introduction-to-north-light It's a shame that they are no longer made because the dogs are beautiful (although very expensive now), but I was very lucky to find their Bernese Mountain Dog today at a charity shop, for a very good price, especially as he seems to be from their original older range as he's marked 1987 with the North Light logo and the artist has signed it with 'Made in UK, Godfrey', which after reading the information on that website I found to be one of the main sculptors! Here is a photo of him, as it says on the website their models were based on the top winning show dogs, and I read somewhere on another forum that there were special editions of Crufts winners and the brand would also customise its models to your own dog (and I'm guessing horse too) if you asked! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]They were most famous for their stunning horse series, but as well as dogs they also seem to have made some other animals too! |

| I do really like Northlights, they have a really good sculpt style compared to a lot of the commerical resin brands. The horses do tend to have over-wide faces and sometimes big ears, but in some breeds that's fine, I mostly like their ponies and drafts rather than the hunter/thoroughbred/arab types for that reason alone.
The year and sculptor name would be the same on every figure from a particular mould, cast in rather than carved by hand into each one. They do those as copyright for when it's originally released, so later editions in different colours will carry the same year/lettering as the first one.
I've only got three, all horses - one grey draft cross (a second release on the friesian mould, I don't think they ever stated a breed for him), one shetland pony, and one repainted as a traditional cob. |

| Pfff, I went off to find photos of the three I mentioned and realised I actually have another two as well! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Harecroft Pageant, Clydesdale (the show turnout I made myself, it's all loose and just balanced/buckled on rather than glued to him, so he's not damaged by wearing it) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Harecroft Thistlewood, he's the one which was a second colour release on the friesian sculpt [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]A rolling horse, the only one doing this in my whole collection! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Shetland pony [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Harecroft Charlatan, repainted cob on the friesian mould I also have one more, an andalusian, but before I bought him he had a shelf fall and scuffed his paint up beyond repair, then I started to repaint him and he fell over at mine as well, and smashed one ear into too many fragments to find them all let alone reattach them, so he's on the waiting list to be mended and repainted (when I feel up to a BIG paintjob), and then kept somewhere safe laying down on his side so he can stop wrecking himself with random unprovoked falls! |

| They are all very beautiful to me. I am not sure the horses are more famous, maybe just there are more horse collectors, I guess. It would be fantastic to find a comprehensive list of all dog figures but I see they are really a lot. I am really enchanted with George's horses. This kind of figures are completely welcome here. I think Daria and Simone already presented a few North Light horses before but the topics are old and pictures are gone. Do you also collect Conversation Concepts?

| That's an interesting point, yes I'm sure it is because there are more horse collectors! I agree, it would be so nice to have a comprehensive list of the dogs- I'll keep searching! Conversation Concepts, I hadn't heard of them! But I've just looked them up and wow what beautiful beautiful dogs and so many breeds! Thank you so much for telling me about them, they are just the sort of dogs I would love to collect! So many breeds there that I've never seen as a model! Interestingly some look similar to the Toy Major dogs too, like this poodle: https://conversationconcepts.com/Poodle-Apricot-Standard-Figurine_p_92222.html |

| According to one eBay seller, they briefly made some dinosaurs as well. I have this odd theropod, maybe they were going for Avimimus? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] It has some ressemblance with the 1977 dino babies of Hagen Renaker. |

| I can see some similarities! This is much larger, however, about 20 cm tall. _________________ Where I try to find the best figure of every species: http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=3390.0

| If I see one, I'll have to go for it. That thing would be good for a laugh on a down day!
I'm sure they'd have a GSD, Lilias, along with a Rough Collie and a Golden. Not so sure about the Aussie, but maybe! |
