| The Simba rhino is great, beautiful pose! I was also quite happy with the Everglades toob. I especially like the crocodilians. Curiously, I wasn't so impressed by the European animals, like with other Safari toobs I thought it could have been done better. The dolphins toob is one that I'd recommend though. I think Bandai tries to make their recent fish too scary. I don't mean that they keep me awake at night , but most species should not look scary. The three that you have are probably the exceptions; they are species that we think of as scary looking. Yes, the last photo is epic. It must have taken ages to make sure that the models weren't obscuring each other. |

| The Simba is nice, but he's a bit bizarre with his accordion neck.
I agree that the ‘European’ Toob isn't as high quality as the ‘Everglades’ Toob, but I fell for the wild boar, the chamois and the badger. It was for these three that I bought it. When I opened it, I also really liked the eel. As for the others, a little paint and they will complete a few floors.
As for the Scary Bandai, I think I bought the three champions in this category, the Viper dogfish and the Pacific footballfish because I didn't have these species, and the Long snouted lancetfish because I found it more interesting than the Kaiyodo. I don't find the others particularly scary. Which ones do you have in mind? |

| The Simba's harmonica neck doesn't bother me.
I think all the recent Bandai look kind of scary. It's probably just me. The dark colours and often dented, somewhat angular plastic makes me feel that they come from a horror movie. Not quite my taste, but it works well for the models you have chosen. |

| I own a few of Bandai's recent insects, crabs and reptiles and I find them quite realistic and well finished. However, I'm not very keen on the ones wrapped around branches or the jointed amphibians. |

| I hadn't thought of the Bandai insects. Yes, they are beautiful. I was just thinking of their recent sea life. |

| So many fantastic additions. I also would love to see Papo releasing a black grouse at the same quality of the Guinea fowl but I suspect they will favour a wood grouse instead.

| September saw the arrival of 21 new ones. This was done in four waves. For the first one I have to thank Paige who once again agreed to store and then send me the toys that I collected over the months in the USA. Without this collaboration, kindness and constant generosity, my collection would not look the same at all. Again, thank you for everything, Paige. As you all know, my collection is sorely short of Indian rhinoceros. So it was with joy that I found this rhino sold by the company AristoCraft, which sells mini garden trains. This one is one of the few animals used as decoration by the brand. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And then I also got my hands on that metal rhino. I only met him once, in Germany. I had missed the sale out of carelessness and ever since its memory haunted me. What was my surprise, what amazement to discover another one on the other side of the Atlantic! I'm not sure it's a toy, but I keep it anyway. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]An unexpected encounter that this wooden Rhino dating from 2006. Toys of this type were commonplace in the 19th century. With the advent of ecological ideas these kinds of "natural and sustainable toys" have been brought back to the taste of the day. I'm not used to buying them but this one will make a wonderful exception. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I also found three other celluloid Rhinos, one "big" made in Japan and two smaller ones made by who knows who. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]After the Rhinos, it's time for the buffalo. In celluloid first, it is made in Japan and bears the acronym NCWUTA. From what I understand, that means that this toy was distributed to children by American unions after the war. Why would you do that? How?I don't know any more but maybe a US collector will be able to enlighten us on this point. Anyway, I think it's very handsome. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The next one is also very beautiful and in a stunning state while it is older than me (between 68 and 77 years old). It is an aluminum British Wend-Al made from the moulds of the French company Quiralu [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Second batch: Following a discussion with Rogério about 1/1 scale animal toys and also the photos of Jolie's Papo red-eared slider, I decided to do a little tour at MPV... First his majesty American bullfrog by Safari Ltd. Rogério was right, I needed it even if I didn’t know that. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I added the Groundhog too because it was looking at me saying please let me come with you. I’m probably weak but I’m not a cruel guy. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I also gave asylum to a huge bee Safari Ltd. When I think that Bandai offers us tons of wasps of different species throughout the year and not a single small bee. An injustice I tell you! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I wasn't going to forget the Grey Parrot, I have to make the shipping costs profitable, right? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]and a small Bullyland Ladybird spider too [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]the Papo Florida turtle [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]and the Papo Caiman, I made a review you can follow [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Third batch: a few things from Aliexpress, a Baboon and a Porcupine from Oenux who will complete my 1/30 and 1/25 floor respectively [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Still following the discussion with Rogério, I also invited my first mammal on a scale of 1/1: an adorable JXK mouse. Let's bet more life-size mammals will join her soon. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And finally the 1/4 TNG Sinosauropteryx, this nice little dinosaur deserved to join my cabinet of curiosities even if it will force me to increase the height my 1/4 floor. I did a walkaround about it [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Last batch: Each year, at Wambrechies, a town of Lille suburb at 20 minutes drive from my house, there's an antique toy purse called "Eurotoys" where I like to go for a walk because you never know... There are many stands of ancient dolls, small cars and also some stands of toy soldiers. I did manage to dig up some old stuff, though. two tiny JoHillco hollowcast lead frogs [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]A composition elephant I suspect to be a Durso but I'm not sure yet [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]and a Schneider box with nine mint state flat models [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The famlily portrait, without the Schneiders [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| I'm amazed you decided to get the giant bullfrog! I hope it doesn't become irritating big for you even if you wanted a larger one. I personally enjoy so much that figure even I always think it is ready to swallow me anytime I look at it. I find that porcupine very interesting. Such a good candidat for my wish list. I want now that mouse, it looks quite realistic to me, It has a thin tail, tiny hands, perfect pose and you tell it is lifesized. Can you show it next to the bullfrog, please? The Johillco tiny frog is one of those great finds. It's incredible how such a tiny and old figure has survived all these years to find its place in a remarkable collection like yours. |

| Thank you paige, Martin and Rogério Take the giant bullfrog? Why are you so surprised? You're a very bad influence on me, don't you know! It’s big, yes, but not as big as me, so I'm not worried. She'll be joining the Lifesize floor, she'd be too fat at 1/1.5. I've fallen for the porcupine, I find it very hard to resist these creatures and it's quite a rare animal, especially on such a scale. The mouse is magnificent and I'd like to take a photo of it with its green friend. The little Johillco frog is a great find, especially as I found two of them. |

| I like the flat models. As I saw the bee in the first picture I thought “nice bee” and at the end……woooa…what a big one…. the little little frog is very cute |

Yes, the big guy although not big as you, he is sitting, ready to stretch and to show you that he really deserves to go to the lifesize floor. Is the mouse made of "normal" pvc? Since the tail is so thin, isn't it rubbery? I don't mind if it is, I'm just curious and please don't miss the link where you bought it. |

| So here are they, the mouse and the bullfrog, it could be the title of a Jean de La Fontaine's fable. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The mouse is a JXK, it is made of resin and a bit expensive of course, less than the other models of the brand though. I buy it on Alieexpress HERE |

| Not a fable but rather a thriller. I'm glad you do not watch those unacceptable Youtube videos about bullfrogs and mice. Oh, so it is a resin, not a fortune and shipping is for free but I would prefer a pvc version. Maybe a copy? Now I understand why that mouse figure is such a good one. Thanks for the link and the perfect comparison pictures. :) |
