| Beautiful additions! Yes, the mouse is stunning. I especially like the way they have made the whiskers. I haven't seen this before in other models.
How do you display your rhinos? Are they all on the same shelf? |

| My rhinos are on different collections, a few are in my "scaled" collection, others are in the fours others: Vintage metal, composition, plastic or monochromatic. For the moment some are unfortunately in boxes because we're in the middle of renovating my home and it's taking much longer than expected. Maybe I'll dedicate a shelf to them, as there are now so many of them and they take up so much space. |

I also found three other celluloid Rhinos, one "big" made in Japan and two smaller ones made by who knows who. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Third batch: a few things from Aliexpress, a Baboon and a Porcupine from Oenux who will complete my 1/30 and 1/25 floor respectively [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Still following the discussion with Rogério, I also invited my first mammal on a scale of 1/1: an adorable JXK mouse. Let's bet more life-size mammals will join her soon. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
And finally the 1/4 TNG Sinosauropteryx, this nice little dinosaur deserved to join my cabinet of curiosities even if it will force me to increase the height my 1/4 floor. I did a walkaround about it [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Congratulations Christophe on all your latest models! As always it is a delight to read about their history and to see the wide range of styles that you collect! The flat models are beautiful with nice detail on them. The pink big swirly rhino is so unusual! I like models like that, that will rarely fit into any conventional collection, yet here they manage to fit in easily. The baboon are porcupine are really nice too, very cute:) And I love the Sinosauropteryx and the dragonfly. Yesterday when I was out walking in the countryside along an earth path thru a shaded grove of very old moss covered trees and bushes I was met by a large beautiful blue dragonfly at the very end of it! There was a tiny lochan (small loch) on this side and the dragonfly was hunting along the edge of the shaded forest area. What a beautiful insect! It's been a long time since I encountered a dragonfly, they are my favourite insects, so I was surprised to see one in October in Scotland! It's around 12 degree days here and chilly at night now. The dragonfly flew around me a couple of times as he proceeded to travel up and down the path. And I love your life size mouse! What beautiful detailing on it with the blue ringed eyes and the whiskers! Such a beauty:) I love mice! |

The pink big swirly rhino is really incredible, I don't know what the sculptor was thinking at the time of designing it I like very much Dragonflies too, I remember seeing some magnificent ones in the south of France when I was still going there, as well as a few in the marshes and ponds of the north. Strangely, I don't have any in my collection, although there are some on my wishlist. Until now, the mouse toys on offer have left me speechless. The JXK made my heart melt |

Wasn't it a Beautiful demoiselle instead? It's a danselfly but it looks so much like a dragonfly. Whatever it is, it is always an exciting sight. |

| October was a prolific month, and this year's weight-loss programme was yet another fiasco. Three successive waves came to fill my shelves. The first came from England Scotland, where Annette found me a few Jeols that were missing from my collection and kindly kept a few purchases to save me postage costs. With these five Jeols, all that's missing from my collection are the giraffe and the elephants - I know it's not a done deal! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]She also gave me four Indian rhinoceros as a gift, a small unknown, two small copies of Britains Ltd and a two-horned rhino that reminds me of the Prior of my childhood. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]She also kept a whole batch of hollowcast leads for me. What triggered the purchase was a series of JoHillCo felines. They're far from the most beautiful in my collection, but it was the first time I'd seen them in two different sizes, so curiosity won out. There was also a Charbens moose, which is the only metal moose I know, so... I also kept a few other models. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]A JoHillCo Brown bear and Ostrich [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Some Britains, the Lion, Brown bear, green Guenon monkey and Sea lion [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]A T&B Macaque [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]A Cherilea Zebra [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I also add a Wend-Al Indian rhino... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]... and a AAA Mandrill, I had him in the past but he had left me during a weight-loss programme, and now he's back. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Annette also agreed to act as a postal relay between Roger and me. So I was delighted to welcome the little Ltd Indian rhino safari and a whole flock of Polar Toymany. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Second batch: like many of us, I succumbed to the charms of ToyMany and placed my first order. I was happily surprised by the quality of the models and I'm now an official addict. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]My third parcel comes from Teardrop, five adorable Eikohs [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Here they all are, apart from three Jeol who had hidden during the photo session. | Congratulations on so many beautiful new models. Happy to see that the Toymany have arrived. Good to hear that you found all JEOLs except the elephants and giraffe. I hope you'll find the elephants and giraffe too. I am looking for them too, but I have little hope I'll find them for a price that I am willing to pay. My favourites: The Toymany bobcat (or lynx?), tiger, Galapagos tortoise and salamader (what species?), the AAA mandril and the JEOL impalas. And yes, it is a very common model, but I love the Britains brown bear even though it may originally have been meant to be a Himalayan bear. I hope 2025 will be better for your collection, I mean in terms of slimming it down . Somehow, I doubt it . |

Love that group shot! Thank you Jolie. The aardvark is fine of course but, believe me, the Moon bear is really awesome. Toymany quality is indeed very surprising and I'm completely caught by them. I jus bought the Frogs set and I am waiting for the monkeys one too - Caracal wrote:
- A great variety of species, scales, materials, epochs and brands! I particulary love the Toymani and Eikoh models with for polar hare, bear, Harfang, caîman and Komodo dragons!
I'm sure Toymany sets will invade Languedoc soon or later The Eikoh size would probably please you. - widukind wrote:

No, Annette from Scotland caught them for me - Saien wrote:

For me the Toymany Bobcat is a Bobcat since it looks like a bobcat and be a part of a North American set. The salamander is an Axolotl and it is really excellent. I'm surprised about the Britains Brown bear, how do you know it was meant to be a Himalayan bear? |

| Very impressive. So many species, so many different brands, from very old to brand new. They all harmonize so well together, especially in the last group photo. The Eikohs are beautiful. My favorites are the JoHillCo cats, the animals by Jeols, and the green Guenon monkey. The photos of the Toymany animals are simply perfect. I hope Toymany sees them too. They would be missing out. _________________ Yvette

| That the Britains brown bear was originally meant to be a black bear is just speculation based on the fact that at some point it used to be painted in black and its sculpt is reminiscent of a black bear. See [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] But I don't know whether it was ever listed as a black bear. I forgot to comment on the curious spotted tiger. It is so peculiar that I like it. I wonder what species it is meant to be. |
