There have been a number of sightings of the Pekin Robin in the UK and apparently they are also becoming established in Europe.

At least in Spain is regarded as invasive since 2013. Is really the UK population "new for 2022"? It would be surprising.

Another article I read surmises that they may have been around earlier than this as they are very secretive and not easy to spot! They are quite common as cage and aviary birds in the UK.They will join the Ring necked parakeet as an invasive species.

I had a pair in an aviary many years ago. They are wonderful birds. Perhaps some have escaped from captivity ?
Amazing that they can survive the winters in UK Shocked

Yes,I would imagine they either escaped or were released. So far they have been limited to the southern half of the UK where the winters tend to be milder.
