| I was curious about the caracal by Playvisions that was made in 1998. I have seen pictures of it but I do not know where to find one. Does anyone have a link to an online store that still carries it? |

| I have one, they are hard to find, the last place I knew they were for sale is out of stock and as you know they haven't been made for quite a while. PM me I may know where to find one or even sell mine if the price is right.

| Sergey, the Chap Mei caracal is actally a caracal painted like a serval. Caracals are solid golden with a very little black on the face, tip of the tail and the tips of the ears, no spots.
That is a really nice set, do they make other sets of animals? Thanks for the photos, I love seeing what is available and what figures others are keeping. |

| That last photo is very interesting, I have 3 caracals as pets, a male and female plus one of their kittens (who is now 3 years old and not a kitten any more) and my male makes that face a lot. Most people who don't know cats think this is an aggressive pose or a threat but in fact it is a male sniffing the scent of a female to see how receptive she is to mating. It is called a flehman reaction and it is how he analysis the scents of the female that he is near. In wild cats an open mouth is almost never a sign of aggression, it can be defensive if it is cornered but mostly it is just a signal that he is not threatening another cat. |

that's very interesting Phil - you are so lucky to have them as pets, could you share some pictures with us, I'd love to see them? _________________ Harriet My *Collection* My *Handmade Animal Sculpture*

I don't breed them but a caracal kitten can cost about $800 to $1000 for a captive born hand raised kitten. Wild ones are available for a lot less but it isn't easy to tame them. I have seen them for as cheap as $300. There are permits required to keep cats like this and you have to live in states where they are legal to keep, many states don't or won't issue a permit. - HKHollinstone wrote:

When I got sick I had to put all of my pets into other homes, hopefully when I get better and can take care of exotics I will get certian ones back. Sometimes while out and around I do go and visit, I have posted photos in the past of some of them, I'll take a look and see what photos I have and post them. |

| I am not sure I want to sell it, but PM me and make an offer. I am open to trades but I only collect the Japanese toys like Bandai, ChocoQ, Kaiyodo, Gashpon and the other similar figures. |

I cannot trade because almost all my animals are made by Safari, and K&M. I have a few Schleich and Papo animals, but I'm sure you do not want any of those. |

| The truth is that, fortunately for you, the PV caracal is a relatively easy figure to get. So you are sure to find one in the next few weeks or months. Interestingly, already if we go too much into detail, there are at least 3 slightly different paint versions of this figure. |
