Interesting "excavation sets" from WEICO Empty
PostSubject: Interesting "excavation sets" from WEICO   Interesting "excavation sets" from WEICO EmptyThu Oct 05, 2023 10:25 am

The company Weico Produkte GmbH was founded in 1975. The company Weico Produkte Spiele + Freizeitartikel GmbH was entered in the Commercial Register on 16.07.2002 and is registered with the Duisburg District Court.

In the 70's Weico was the first supplier of wooden dinosaur skeletons in Europe. This resulted in a wide collection of wooden building sets.
AAA dinosaurs and animals were also sold by WEICO under its own label.

Well known are also the excavation sets in the pocket money price range. I would like to show a few of these here:
I found three different sets:
- 2x with a single figure, but in different sizes (per set the size is uniform), also the "tool" is different in size:

The figures are hidden in a plaster block. You can uncover them with the included tool. I have uncovered some of them. The figures are made of very hard resin-like material and they have no markings.
For children a fun - For parents a horror, because the plaster causes a "huge mess"  Laughing .

Set 1 - small figure

Set 2 - little bigger figure

Set 3 - nest and hatchlings

Very original and fun idea. I am quite surprised that even their skin is perfectly preserved in the rock!

These figures present a bit of a dilemma: As a collector you may want to keep them in their original state, but then you can't see them scratch.
