| Happy New Year Everyone! Just one last post before new year, I have decided for a bit of fun to list my top 10 favorite models of the previous year. These are in no way in order of preference, just my favorite models I own: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Happy New Year Everyone, and here's to 2024! |

| Happy new year and interesting list. Those are your favorite additions in 2023, an interesting subject. I believe I am not organized enough to make my top 10. My topic only shows the additions of the last months. and I could easily forget many of them. From memory I can tell: - K&M fennec fox from Paige, - Blancherie Frères anteater from christophe, - Mojo tamandua custom from Annette, - Elastolin capercaillie from Yvette, - Play Visions tamandua from Kelly - Kitan Club mini fox and a brand? anteater from Roger, - - Papo Epagneul Breton from Taylor, - Mojo Dalmata and a cassete from Kristie There are a few other figures I'm not sure ªI received them in 2023 or 2022! |

| Hi Roger, and yeah, Happy New Year to you too! I find keeping tabs on all figures actually exhausting too for all my 'trying to be organised' efforts! Interesting you've compliled a little list of other sts users? |

| Oh, true, but this is not necesarily a list of favorite members. This is a tradition I bring from my fox collection topic, and I do it instinctively. Since most of my figures are gifts or obtained through trades, I like to associate each model with its origin. Instead of giving them a name, I prefer to keep the memory of who sent it to me. Until recently, I thought I would be able to remember the origin of all my figures, but it's no longer true, and I wish I had taken note of it all in the past. I notice that I haven't even included figures that I bought, and I could have easily added the DeAgostini Dogo Argentino or Papo's condor to my list, as those are figures that I really like. |

| Oh, that's a really nice list! All of them are awesome and some are still on my wishlist (like Papo's magnificent red fox).
My top ten models of this year are (also in no particular order): Schleich's 2010 Friesian stallion (the grail of the grails) Schleich's 2005 Friesian mare (such a pretty girl) Schleich's 2006 Friesian filly (simply cute) Schleich's 2010 Fallabella mare (finally in my collection) Schleich's 2008 Wolf (my first wolf for my collection) Schleich's 2008 Wolf cub (a wonderful model) Papo's Camargue stallion (my first Papo horse) Schleich's tack shop exclusive Sheltie (her fur texture is amazing) Schleich's 2012 Sanjeela (one of my favourite bayala sets) But the unbeatable number one is definitely: Schleich's 2004 Bison calf! I found this little one brand new in a store what I would have never expected as this model retired in 2010. All in all I'm simply grateful for this year and that I was able to get so many cool models for my collection. Happy new year!

| Those are great choices Katy, I'll admit I had to look some up, but I guessed you'd put a lot of horses on your list! |

| Great idea Unfortunately I'm unable to make a list, despite my wish to reduce my collection, 246 animals arrived in my jungle this year. Some may date back to the 19th century, others were first published in December 2023. There are so many different styles, so many different reasons for welcoming them that it's impossible to choose just 10 favourites. |

| Since the majority of my collection is vintage 1/32nd scale, I've been very lucky to have received lots of wanted figures from forum friends on here! And I'm glad I was able to find some treasures online too! Here are some of my +/-10 favourite models :) The Omo zebra, and smaller zebra figure, which I like to call a foal, and the Omo fox - these came from Alain (caracal)! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]and a cute fat rhino and fluffy bear - both are hollow [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Roger kindly gave me these 2 impalas to join my herd. I love them, and more so because their irregular horns make them unique. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Jim (JungleJim) so kindly added a beautiful tiger and 2 Marx giraffes to my herds! I love these 3 very much [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I received many wanted figures from Christophe, particularly the Omo zebra, the white eating zebra, Starlux reindeer and 3 super cute dinosaurs with wings. Can't remember their name! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Yvette helped me get a Veb Plaho fox family! so very beautiful. And they came with other families I love! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]and Cody helped me with some beautiful little models. In particular the Marine Iguana by PV and the Narrow Mouthed Toad that I'd both seen on here and fell in love with! Plus the PV Musk Ox and Reindeer which are really great models! | Very interesting to see everyone's 2023 favourites. It gives a good idea of what people like and what they collect. My favourites of your favourites: CollectA musk ox, Breyer 'Ebony Shines and Charlize' and Hausser Elastolin tiger. (Sorry that I couldn't choose favourites if you didn't show photos.) I am a manic collector and added 270 figures to my core collection in 2023. It may be the last year that I collect so much, as I believe (or hope?) that I have nearly everything I want. Not all are truly new figures in my collection. Because I collect a lot of vintage figures, I often collect figures to replace a figure that is in a less good condition. I haven't included these in my 10 favourites. Choosing only 10 figures is very cruel. But I've done it even though I may choose different figures tomorrow. In the order I collected them: Britains Ayrshire bull: Hard to find and one of the few important models missing from my Britains collection. It is in a great condition. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Busch Gardens Lying white tiger: I didn't have any good white tigers in 1/32 scale. It was a surprise to find this brand and to see that their tigers are such high quality. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Nayab Markhor: The only markhor in my 1/32 scale collection. While it is a cheap figure, the sculpt is actually pretty good. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Breyer Secretariat: Probably my best running horse with rider. As with most Breyers, high quality sculpt and painting. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Kaiyodo Arapaima: My other arapaimas are quite low quality or too large for 1/32 scale. This one is beautiful though hard to find. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Takara TOMY Dugongs: I was surprised to find that they are 1/32 scale. A lovely pair! It's rare to find young sealife at this scale unless the species is very large. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Merten Walking tiger: My only figure from this brand. I love the sculpt and the way it is painted. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Britains Tumbrel cart: Although I already had this cart with a white horse, I hadn't been able to find it with a brown horse. I like the fact that it gives us a look into farming in the past. It came in an almost perfect box. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Breyer Pinto pony: I love the sculpt and colours. It wasn't sold in Europe, so I was very happy to be able to get it with the help of Jill. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Safari Monterey Bay Sperm whale: No longer in production since 2011, so hard to find. There aren't so many sperm whales or even whales in general in 1/32 scale, so an important model in my collection. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |
