All Mertens I have are marked "GERMANY". My elephant isn't so I don't think it is Merten. The question is, what is it? I have no answer for now - sunny wrote:

| So the top one is a "Singapore". It is the first croc I had before the Starlux and the Prior ones when I was eight or nine old! I loved him because he was floating very well in the puddles so that I just could see its muzzle, eyes and back line at the water surface, like true ones! The other ones could not swimm.. :) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| I am sure that someone knows the provenance of these animals. When I was a child had some of these but in black with greenish touches in the paint. They are rubber and only these two are marked on the base. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| I'm not a big fan of rhinos (I think it's because when I was a child I "had to choose" between them and hippos, and I stuck with the latter). But when a rhino figurine fascinates me, it moves up places over other species that I would prefer to prior. Most of us know this mold, but I don't know the brand of this particular one: - I think it was made in Spain. The only two I have seen I found them here. It also has a very characteristic smell, the same that the Spanish rubber figures have (Jecsan, Pech or Lafredo). It is a very characteristic smell that I have not noticed no other rubber figure. - the figure is rubber, not plastic or metal like its distant cousins of other brands. | I know this model and I agree it might be Spanish but I can't help for the brand unfortunately. |

| Other vintage unknowns. Probably Spanish (with molds inspired by several brands from Spain and France). Small size and plastic (somewhat translucent). [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |
