| The Safari IC Nile monitor lizard has been on my search list for a long time, and I'm so overjoyed to finally have it in my collection! I have the green tree monitor and it was one of my favorites, when I discovered the Nile one years ago it was one of my most anticipated Safari figures. This model is gorgeous and so life-like, it could easily be mistaken for a real juvenile monitor. I love when Safari has the rubbery lizards, they are the most realistic. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Here it is with my green tree monitor (quite dirty from years of outdoor play) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I can't wait to take some outdoor photos with this gorgeous monitor! _________________ Jolie

| This one is a fabulous find and a very realistic figure too. Those remind me the AAA large lizards and this is a praise. Here is a large figure I didn't mind having myself. |

Thank you! It's been on my desk because I don't want it to get lost on the shelf with my other IC figures _________________ Jolie

| These two appear to be the same mold, so they can't both accurately represent their intended species. It appears cast from an actual specimen. Does anyone know what the 'host' specimen was for the cast/mold? I suspect the green tree monitor, but I don't know enough about this group. |

I *believe* this figure was actually sculpted and not cast. I could be wrong, but I think it was a sculpt. And I think it was based on a Nile or Water Monitor, as the tail is not right for the Green Tree Monitor (should be round, not flattened). Water Monitors have the most dramatically flattened tails for swimming, but I think Niles also display this. Either way, it wasn't accurate for Green Tree. Still an epic figure and one I'm proud to display. |
