Papo 51191 Guinea Fowl: a small walkaround by Kikimalou

Although Papo introduced the bird to his farm series, the Helmeted guinea fowl (Numida meleagris) is a wild animal native to sub-Saharan Africa. Of course, it has conquered Europe, Australia and America as a domesticated species.
This bird has a distinctive look, with grey-black body plumage speckled with white, a featherless head adorned with a dull yellow or reddish bony knob, and bare skin in shades of red, blue or black. The wings are short and rounded and the tail is also short. In short, it reminds me of a cassowary bonzai.  
This bird is gregarious and I saw a report on ‘animal democracies’ where it had its moment of glory. Groups of guinea fowl are indeed hierarchical, even if this isn't too obvious when everything is calm. However, all it takes is for the group to discover a better-than-usual ‘restaurant’ for the dominant group to take the spoils by attacking the others. The ‘dominated’ end up leaving the place to find another meal... The dominants then find themselves the only potential prey on their heap of wonders, so they rush back to the group, leaving the feast behind.
Our bird may not be in danger of extinction in real life, but it is extremely rare in the world of toys. Our Papo may even be the first representative of the species to be produced in the 21st century.

Amazing walkaround Kikimalou! I can't wait to add this figure to my collection. I'm waiting for them to arrive in the US to save money this year, so I've been impatiently waiting

I love the details on the face and the spots are so detailed. I'm tempted to get a small flock of them

I almost bought it. I made a very small purchase of 4 figures and the Guinea Fowl was the next in my wish list. I really want to get this and the white peacock. Your walk around shows perfectly that this figure is in pair with the latter Papo releases and it is a very good model in my opinion. I also love these comparison topics, one of them with figures at scale, really nice!
