This Cryptoclidus reminds me of the ‘walking with dinosaurs’ series published 25 years ago.
The species did not give birth to plastic offspring, so it's a ‘first ever’.
It would be interesting to know Adam aka Animaltoyforum's opinion on the degree of accuracy of this model. In any case it seems attractive

I would say "first ever" of the major brands- Yowies dino series has one this year I know.

Adam over on DTB said its a great model- he will nitpick it once he owns one but he said overall its a nice cryptoclidus figure and welcome to his collection.

I am just relieved they actually announced something properly new finally! They still have to announce their new lizards I found.

Should we consider this figurine new or just a repaint?

I'd still consider it a new release because even though it is a repaint, it at least is a different species and not just and updated paint scheme.

Same- it is still a repaint but not an "updated" repaint like the earlier announcements.

Of course I would have rather seen a new sculpt especially given that this one isn't the strongest to begin with. But it is a common species their range needs- hopefully its sales will help with other more interesting releases later.

If I praised Mojö for using different molds for the bald eagle and the golden eagle, now I can't praise them for using the same mold for two different species of macaw even though the morphological similarities are evident. This is a trick that fortunately is seen less and less, Mojö had already done it with frogs. Of course, it's not the only brand that does it but I would prefer if they avoided it.
Yes, this is a new release, it's like this with Mojö as it was with the Safari macaws, the Papo frogs, etc. It's still a repaint but in a different category from a new horse color which are also new releases. In the other previous cases they are just paint updates. I like Christophe's expression that called them facelifts although I prefer this expression for molds that are retooled.

I think we can let the comparisons to a later stage. It's actually great Mojö fun is releasing an axolotl with vibrant colors. Brands always favor the domesticated morphs but it is good to see this impressive creature being portraied, not long ago it was completely neglected in this hobby.

Its a little hard to gauge the face based on the angle of the photo, but I do like the vibrant pink color! Of course I wish it had been a wild morph but, alas...

Looks good! I already have so many axolotls though.

To many axolots in recent years... Safari, CollectA and now Mojo... All in a similar pose and scale. I think it would be nice to have one smaller.
The face of this, at least in this perspective, seems quite phallic to me.

Mojo 2025 appears to be in competition with Papo 2025 in terms of releasing a running tiger figurine

Can't tell if it will be good with only one pic but I like very much the pose.

What is the relationship between the upper and lower photos? Does this figurine appear to be bendable?
