| Oh, that Friesian is gorgeous! I just started picking up just a few of the 1:12 horses because they're the perfect size for the 6.5-7" fantasy action figures I also collect. |

- I'm in agreement that the dead blobfish was a terribly bad choice, not only misleading to all the kids (and adults) who'll think this is their natural state while living, but also disrespectful to the creature itself. Imagine if their only chicken figure was sculpted headless and plucked just because more people see them that way in supermarkets every day than see them alive on farms - that's the same as making a bloated blobfish just cos this 'look' is better known on the internet than the way they are alive.
The gecko is lovely, though, what a great sculpt, it's got such character and life in the stance and the turn of the head!
The dappled Percheron is a huuuge improvement on the old colour, where the grey was bare plastic with just a little bit of shading on the legs, this one's beautifully done and I like the face markings, too. There seems to be a weird yellowy-green tone on the side of her belly, though, I'm not sure if it's just the picture or whether that's part of the paintjob design. And yeah, I've had a grey horse, they DO get grass stains or lay in pee puddles, but that's a bit too much realism to need to recreate on a model?
The Friesian is a gorgeous action sculpt, I really like the flying mane and handsome face - it's a pity this is for the expensive deluxe range though! I haven't managed to convince myself they're worth the extra money yet, at £28 here ($36/€34) they're nearly three times the cost of the standard CollectAs. And for that price you really do only get more size, not more detailed/accurate/artistic paintjobs too - if anything they're less well painted cos the eyes are just solid shiny black, and don't have pink in the corners or brown/blue irises like the recent standard-scale 'repaint' releases have been given. I agree 100% With that blobfish... maybe it's intentional. Collecta has already created a few dinosaur carcasses. Maybe they will specify more... _________________ My webside / my collection / my youtube channel / my facebook / my instagram / my twitter

| Subject: Does the ceratops thing have a movable jaw? Sat Nov 02, 2024 10:11 am | |
| Dear Sts Friends:
Well, I've finally discovered this topic, and right now, the new leopard gecko, and blobfish are on my searchlist. Even though the blobfish looks dead, he's still a species I've never had in my collection, so he'll be the first blobfish I've found. About the Furcatoceratops, does it have a movable jaw? If so, then I won't get it. Well, let me know if it does, okay?
Sincerely,
Aschuck

I almost wrote that - the only time a company should be making dead animals is those dino carcasses designed for play/dioramas with predators feeding, they're more about realism and including behaviour in play or scenes, not mocking the killed creature for how it looks. And they're always common species we've already had live versions of, so there's no kid out there whose only Triceratops option is a dead one! - aschuck wrote:

No, the jaw isn't moveable, the mouth is slightly open but the whole head is sculpted all as one piece. |

| [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I read something indicating that CollectA may be releasing a new warthog figurine for their 2025 lineup. I haven't heard any official announcements, but the photo they mentioned has a code, which could suggest that it is a planned release. Have you heard anything else about this? |
